Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anybody updated their navigation. And if yes, did it just update the routes or did it give new features like background color options or anything like that?
Also I was wondering if I should iodate the navigation disk or install CarPlay? If anyone has done it, please let me know your experience

The navigation update as far as I'm aware is a map update only.
As for Apple CarPlay, that's going to require a big upgrade in the system. Do some research and you'll likely will move on.

I did some research and for $500 I can get a video interface module which can split the existing screen with CarPlay. I was wondering if buying navigation disks would be worth it or just install CarPlay and I’m good to go

I just use Waze for my navigation and I use WAZE on CarPlay when I am in my wife’s car…
BTW, the CarPlay is wireless (Bluetooth) so take that into consideration when spending the big money for the car play interface.
also, like others have said, this car can be a real money pit.
I looked into a CarPlay interface for my 2013 SRX, but there are so many issues with this model and it most likely won’t be in my garage in a year. I have 55k miles right now.
