Does anyone with the factory navigation package option find the touch screen scrolling feature for the map far too sensitive or difficult to use? I move my finger slightly on the screen and the next thing I know: either the map remains as it was or, conversely, the displayed map is miles away and out in front of what I want to see.

No... mine is just fine as far as sensitivity is concerned.

Now the NAV Software sucks, especially the POI search - - it usually can't find what I am looking for, where my Garmin always finds what I am trying to seek.

For example - - If I key in IHOP into the POI search - my Garming immediately shows me a list with closest to farthest and a direction arrow from my current location and direction..... my SRX shows me the headquarters for IHOP in Glendale California and no other listings.

I personally would much prefer an oversensitive screen over one you have to smack with a hammer to get it to respond!

I went bowling the other night and the people in the next lane were stabbing at the screen with a pencil really hard to get it to respond... it looked like they were getting frustrated! :)

Prof......mine is way too sensitive. The first time I used the touch screen feature to recenter the map on another location, I was lost trying to get some street level detail just slightly East of where I was. The next thing I knew the screen was all blue. I thought the NAV crashed. I pulled over and started to play with it. I found out it was working fine, but the NAV skipped about three MILES East, all the way into the Atlantic Ocean which is blue on my screen. When I tried to touch screen it back West, land reappeared.

I am unable to use the touch screen feature to scroll the map in small enough, measured increments for my liking. My wife dislikes it too.

Re the Points of Interest (POI), I have the same issues. My Garmin is a piece of cake and intuitive. The SRX' NAV unit, not so much.

I can relate on the "Unexpected" features... On my Garmin... if I see a POI Icon on the screen... I touch it and a message appears as to what store or whatever the icon is indicating.... ... .... on my SRX if I try to touch a POI icon it just moves the screen.

I too have tried to zoom in or out, only to have the thing move to where my finger is instead. Very annoying.

But over all, reaction to my touch is good...

FYI: if you drag the screen to La-La land... press the NAV button on the upper left and it should return to your current location (Mine does.)

I get the blue screen when I hit the power button on mine... really annoying at night.

Yes, Prof, when I hit the NAV button to the top left of the screen, it returns me to the map of me and where I was/am. I think I will have my wife play with it with the instruction manual handy, just to make sure this is not simply a matter of operator error, an adjustable sensitivity feature, or a simple failure to read the manual thoroughly. Yes, I admit it, I should do a bit more reading and playing with the features.

Re night driving, don't turn off the power to the audio, NAV, DVD. Go to the screen brighness features (Day, night, auto). I think there is an off feature as well which leaves the screen black. The audio continues. Any button controlling the audio, DVD, or NAV that you touch turns the display right back on.
