I just noticed that there is a separate CUE forum, so I posted this there. I would delete this posting but I don't know how.

We have a new SRX and have discovered what many of you already know --- the CUE system is not very intuitive. My question is this: when I press the navigation icon a screen appears saying that there are no active routes and that we should call ONSTAR. Can anyone tell me how to get the map screen so that I can set my own routes and preferences? It's got to be something easy that I have overlooked.

This probably isn't much help. Just went out to our 13 and checked it. Started the car, and left it in park. Touched the home screen button and from there, touched the Nav button. This brought up a map screen of where the car currently is, about halfway between Dallas and OKC. On the bottom of this screen were several icons, menu, destination and a couple of others I have already forgotten. If I touched the destination button, it would let me enter a destination. Hope this helps a little. Merry Christmas

Danbee46, I also recommend getting in touch with your dealership for further assistance, and if you would like me to also investigate my resources for you please email me anytime. Including the last eight of your VIN would be very helpful, and I'm reachable at [email protected]. While our offices are closed 12/25, I will be back in the office 12/26 and will be sure to check my emails then!

Danbee, your car is probably not equipped with nav. On all vehicles with CUE but without nav, it still gives the option to push the nav screen, and it just tells you 'no route has been selected'. This i believe would change if OnStar sent you directions and connections via download. Otherwise you just have a blank screen in the meantime. It's sort of fooling people to have a 'Nav' button there all the time, but it's not the weirdest thing GM has done.

I hope you have a good dealer and I hope you have something in writing about getting NAV in your new car. I do not know how much trouble it would be to install one at the dealer but that is the option I would insist on. A new car is also an option provided you have some evidence that NAV was to be included in your car. A good dealer would make this right but he will point out to you that you may not have payed for the NAV and therefore you will have to pay for the install. Be very careful with what you are offered and ask someone here on this forum whether or not it is a good offer. Maybe you will luck out and it will all go well for you. Good luck. Merry Christmas.

Danbee, give Katie (or Katie's assistant- Cadillac Customer Service Rep) the last 8 digits of your VIN and she can bring up your build code. We then can confirm if your vehicle is equipped with nav or not.
Don't feel too bad, i had to educate my salesman on how CUE works and a couple of tricks with it. :D Though it really sucks if you wanted nav and don't have it.
