Does anyone know why Cadillac decided not to allow Nav System upgrades ? Do you think they will ever have a retrofit kit for the the Nav System ? Which After market Nav System is the best ?

You don't think GM wants you to keep your car forever, do you? Don't hold your breath for any upgrades!

There's always compromises in any system. Check out each for what you'd prefer. A good resource, although not necessarily cheap, is Crutchfield.com

When I bought my Pre Owned SRX I was told I could not get the NAV system upgrade. It could only be put on when the car was built.

Frank that is correct. I have looked into it and it must be factory installed because the NAV system is tied into the radio and onboard computer.

:thehand: I'm not so sure that's correct. Many of the CTS guys have converted their factory non NAV to factory NAV. It's a very simple procedure. First, you have to find a used DVD NAV for your vehicle. Many are available for the CTS, not sure about the SRX. Simple NAV for radio swap on the CTS with the addition of adding one wire to the existing wiring harness. You would need to add the GPS antenna and obtain the DVD NAV map discs. Check out www.cadillacfaq.com for the procedures. Ask this question on the CTS board. Many there might have knowledge if their are differences between the CTS and SRX regarding the NAV system.
