He said he found it somewhere on the internet, but he noticed the other night about some of us (Stoney) complaining about the "youre like a brother" get out clause on the forums, and thought it would be appropriate.

"A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend. This always starts out with "You're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way". This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying "You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants. But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic. And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you. In fact, we will never hire you. But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired."

Good one Craig!

I would love to have seen this as a skit by Monte Python's Flying Circus or as a monolog by Dennis Leary.

yes, lately I have been making more attempts (which is still considered lame) to meet girls and such.... and it just isn't happening.

I believe it'll happen at the right time one day.

Until then I will work on the cars I have, buy more vehicles in the future that I want, get a house etc.....

I think the only thing keeping me sane is my cars, hard to explain, but when I am going thru tough times or something, my cars always seem to get me thru be it working on them, driving them etc.... it is alot more then a hobby to me, its a passion..... I can spend $100 on my car today, and next year the money I put into it will still show, I could spend $100 to take a girl out to dinner and movie, and then she isn't interested (I would never do such a thing, but its an example)

Its hard to explain how such a material object can mean so much and take your mind off things. It worked well in high school, and it is working thru college, its just how I see the nature of the beast. I have goals and prioritys, obvious when it comes to making something of my life, the car can't get in the way... but I would much rather spend my Saturday night driving around in my car listening to music then going to a strip joint, spending lots of money and doing not so nice things. Plus I am looking to buy a fixer-upper house within a couple years after I start a real job.... my time will be full, these next 5 years will mean alot in how the rest of my life is going to be, spend my time and money wisely, do things I enjoy doing, take chances, but don't get caught up in a situation that may prevent me from doing what I want to do... and for that, my cars will always be there to take me where ever I may need to go.

gah... sorry for the rant... it kinda builds up every once in a while :)

I feel the same about my cars. When I'm going through a rough period, washing or cleaning them makes me not think about my problem so much and relaxes me. So as a final thought to everyone searching for S.O.S. let it flow, take it easy, don't get hung up on it too much and it will come to you. I the meantime flirt, hangout with any and every female you want but do not try to get a girlfirend, a girlfriend will come to you. *gets off soapbox and chucks dueces, peace out*

Indeed Addison.

Surprisinly, as i know some of you think i lead a great life, i have a rough patch now and then.

My solution is also in the cars.

I drive

and drive

and drive

Until i run out of road.

Last time i did this i went nearly 400 miles.

In my wife's car :hide:

Even though we joke with you Uncle Craig :D we know that even you can have a rough time but you do have one advantage: You have so many cars you can get through the rough patches with. Especially the Range Rover or ESV in 4WD. :histeric:

Huh I've always been too broke to drive 400 miles when I'm angry or just off my game. No gas money, and that made me worse.

Anyway that's got to be one of the best analogys ever written...

A couple years ago I got in my car and went driving aimlessly late one night in a rural area. I wanted to get the hell away from my girlfriend, and nothing else.

An hour went by and I realized that after a series of left and right turns, I had no idea where I was. I was lost in the rural valleys of eastern washington. I got out, turned off the car, and looked around to see if I could tell which way civlization was, and I couldnt. There were no houses, I had no cell phone, and I was running low on gas (anger made me forget to fill up).

I continued driving aimlessly until I, by some odd accident, finally saw a sign for a main road, which I then took home.

It was a cool late summer, so I was ready and willing to camp out on the side of the road until morning.
