Hello all, my name is mike, I just traded in my 2013 srt 8 challenger for a brand new 2014 ATS. My challenger had all the power one could ever want and more then any one could ever use on a public street. The ATS is enough to get you in trouble and my kind of car. I love all the extra amenities that she has and I never had a car with as much as this one has. I am glad to be a cadillac owner. I am 35 years old and I am still getting use to the "YOU DRIVE AN OLD MAN CAR" comments, but it don't bother me a bit. I also have a 14 Dodge Ram and a 15 charger rt. if I want speed I will just grab a different set of keys. Anyways glad to be here and look forward to post questions and on the rare cases answers...

I'm out,

Welcome and don't worry about the "old man's car" remarks. They come from those who haven't been in a new Caddy in over 10 years and don't know squat.

Wrong move... selling the SRT8. I kept my R/T and bought the Caddy for a DD.

Old farts car, yeah; I'm 76, and two years ago traded in my 2002 325sport for this baby. Never wanted a Caddy as they were always representative of a "boat-ride." However, as we all know on this forum, and maybe-unfortunately-only a few others on the outside know, the ATS is a great melding of class and drive. My only regret is that in getting the first iteration of the ATS, I became an unhappy alpha-tester and have been subjected to way too many visits to the shop and Caddy's false come-ons about keeping the CUE system updated.

Getting rid of the challenger as much as I hate to say it was easy. The way that dodge is handling the hellcat issues for me is un acceptable. I wanted a hellcat, had the money for a hellcat, but trying to find one that was not being sold by a greedy ass dealership, that was the hard part, and for me a turn off.. Maybe in a few years I may go back, but I doubt it, I really like my caddy.

I leased my first Audi in 1998 and I would get comments like "aren't you scared it will self accelerate?"

People can really be sheep sometimes.

Let the car impress you. It's all that counts.
Nobody says that about Audi anymore. Maybe in another 10-15 years nobody will calling Cadillac an old man's car anymore.

SRT 8 challenger is a cool car, but with 470 HP to haul around 4200 lbs, its hardly over powered. It's just a transposition away from that. If it were 740 HP to haul 4200 lbs, or if it were 470 HP to move a 2400 lb car, it might get to where I wouldn't need more. :D

Welcome to the board. :)
