My 2006 DTS doesn't have a single heated seat in the vehicle working, or a cooled seat. Not the drivers, passengers, or rear. When I turn the cooled seats on I can hear the fan turn on and everything but it's not cold. The heated seats seem to get lukewarm??

I checked fuses, all good. The module looked good at first glance, and I also thought if they're turning on at all then it must not be the module correct?

Any idea? I'm lost.

The main air channel on my driver's seat collapsed a few years ago. The fan would run but it didn't cool much and quit entirely on long trips after about an hour. I had to peel the leather back on the cushion to discover the problem and fixed it with a piece of stiff foam and cardboard. As that's a bother and the hard plastic is easy to break, maybe someone has another idea to try first.

Are both front seats working or not working the same way?

Does your air conditioner work? They aren’t really cooled but ventilated. They blow air from the climate control ducts. It is my understanding that the heated portion uses a thermal grid to actually generate heat. I can hear the air “whine” when the cooled seat is set to medium. I can feel the air coming through. If you can’t hear or feel the air then your tunnels aware probably collapsed as previously suggested. Someone else can probably explain this better.

No, there's an actual bimetal electric cooling gizmo under the seat (and another in the seat back), but if it's 110 in the car, it doesn't work that well. Come to think of it, I believe there's a filter over the air intake which could be clogged up. My Deville had a different gizmo that didn't last too long. First I moved the passenger unit over, then I had to cough up $140 for a new one.

Note that's for the back, not the cushion.

Yes, there is a filter. Not sure I'd get a used one. They're a bother to work on if you wear loose glasses and you don't want to unbolt the seat.

Where is it and how do you get to it? Is it under the seat? Front or rear?

I want to look at my filter since mines don't blow like it once did.

They're under the front seats, about in the middle. Tilt the cushion all the way back.
From the picture, it doesn't look like the separate blower in the seat back has a filter, and you probably have to remove the seat cover to get to it.

I believe at least one CTS generation's seats were ventilated only, as was the first Mercedes system, but '03+ Deville/DTS/STS seats are cooled (if you ordered the right option package). I don't know about the newer sedans and CUVs, but Cadillac (or any lux brand) would be stupid to offer only ventilated seats in our hot and steamy Sunbelt.
