So last night I was cruising around, and I pulled up next to a teenager in a Volvo S60 at a stoplight. Now I know nothing about Volvos, but I'd say it was like a late '90s, early '00's model. Anyways, the light turns green and I get on it kinda hard, but nothin' too crazy. I see he's right there with me, so at about 30-35, I take it to the floor and he follows suit and passes me pretty easily. Next thing, I look down and I'm doing 70 in a 45 zone. lol. Damn, she accelerates pretty good once you're at about 50 or so.

I know she's not the fastest thing out there, but I was just curious as to how she'd actually do. And I have no idea as to what was under the Volvo's hood, so I can't really compare.

Probably a 2001+ S60 with a turbocharged 5 cylinder with 200 ponies...

In the '99 S Class brochure, they quote the 0-60 times at 8.8 seconds. They do not list the 1/4 mile, but I'd say somewhere in the high 16, low 17 second range.

Yuo can easily beat Volvo by using Mossellman turbo lol
Anyway, I think it's not a slow car considering its size :)

Yeah, it's not slow considering you've only got a 3.2 I-6 pushin' 4500 lbs of car. And from what I've experienced so far, it really wakes up above 70 or so. At those speeds, you give it even 1/2 throttle and you can pretty much pass anything. It's crazy, it's like the total opposite of the deVille, with that one, it was unbeatable around town, but a dog at higher speeds. With this one, it's kinda lacking at lower speeds, but really wakes up at about 70-75.

Cool, I was gonna ask you to make a comparison between your rides as well . I think what makes 8 cylinder W140s quick is that they also fast at the level where your I-6 wakes up lol .
I won't even ask V12 'cos it's a diff story lol :) :D

I stepped on my Mom's old '98 S600 one time.. the roar from that V12 sounded like a Greyhound and I looked at the speedo only to find I was going 110 in almost no time. It had a 0-60 in 5.9 seconds or so.....
