My first "encounter..."

So I was on my way back from Pasadena this afternoon, when a guy in an ~03ish Cobra pulls past me and guns it a bit. There was a bit of room in front of us, so I obliged. I moved into the same lane behind him, and he hit it again...I was in fourth (should've gone to third), and hit it right after him. He got the jump, but by the top of fourth gear, I was reeling him in pretty quickly! Switched lanes, and blew right by him, although he shut down about the time I was at his quarter panel, so the effect was a littled enhanced. No clue if his car was modded or not...sounded good, but those things are pretty audible stock. Either way, it was the funnest (most fun?) ~20 secs I had all day! The best part?? His plate read RLEFAST...guess I should've had one that read, NTFSTNF!!

Our:highfive: cars are so much fun...

Today there was a guy in a new BMW convertible, red, temp tags, and son in the passenger seat. We are sitting at a light, and he starts pointing at my car telling his son something. That is enough to bring a smile to my face.
This April I was cruising down I-5 in East LA at about 70 in the fast lane. An orange Cobra came rushing up behind me doing the pulsing stance indicating to me that he wanted to play. It was a Sunday morning with comparatively light traffic, but nevertheless this section of I-5 has always been well patroled. I increased my speed about 5 mph so as to clear a car on my right and make room for the Cobra. He was impatient; and in a dashing move careened from lane 1 to lane 4 and then tried to move back to lane 1. As he moved back and from out of nowhere came a CHP Crown Vic on his bumper who lit him up at about lane 2. He slowed, and as I passed him I double-tapped my horn and blew him a kiss. Perhaps it was the one you met.
A couple years back I got to run up against an '03 Cobra as he merged on an empty highway right next to me at about 1:30 in the morning. He thought he was just going to take off but I matched his speed from 70 to about 90. We were both going at about 1/2 throttle.

Then he looks over surprised that this sedan wants a go. So we each slowed down a bit to 80 scoping each other. We each blipped the throttle about 2-3 times and on the last try we both synced up and went for it. We each had different shifting points. I had pulled about 1/2 a length and then he lost another 1/2 shifting but made that up when I shifted. In each gear, 3rd, 4th and 5th I pulled about 1/2 a length until he topped out at 155. I kept going to 160 where I shut it down since he was flashing. We both hopped off and chatted for a few. He'd never heard of the V. That night, his education was very quick...
