How did you interface with your car's computer and implement the changes as given to you by Scott?

e-mail tuning seems bogus to me. How did it happen?

 

Lol...I guess its bogus if you are totally ignorant to the process...this isnt a generic mail order tune either.

Email tuning with the proper tools is just as good as any dyno tune, in fact, probably more accurate since the data comes from actual street pulls with true load.

Ill run you through the process.

Customer purchases HPTuners and wideband.

Customer gets base tune file from Scott and writes to car.

Customer than drives the car while logging dozens of items as well as wideband air/fuel data, all logged perfectly and cleanly via HPtuners.

Customer sends datalog files to Scott for adjustments/ tweaks.

When Scott is more comfortable with the tune he will have the customer do some WOT pulls to dial it in better.

Process is repeated with new tune files and datalogs until customer is happy with the tune.

You can technically get away with no wideband if you have a stockish car, Scott will most likely leave it a little rich but it will be fine. I personally have a wideband just to be extra safe or you can always check the final tune at a local dyno.

 

I would assume hp tuners was used.

Not to hijack this thread but do you have any sound clips of your exhaust? Looks like Borlas? Do you have catless down pipes going into those 200 cells?

And I’ve heard nothing but positives about Scott’s tuning.

Sorry no sound clips, it's got an aggressive tone but no rasp. 3" system sold by KPE and manufactured by Billy Boat. You can see the mufflers in the picture I posted. Yes it has catless down pipes, part of the system as sold. I installed 16" resonators towards the back of the system, just a bit quieter with them.

Your car sounds like a monster! Any paperwork from the 1/4 mile? What size and brand rear tires are you running? Auto or stick?

He just thought they were bogus. He is obviously not well-versed in it. We Were all like that at some time. When I had my first car tuned I didn’t know an HP tuner from an HP calculator with RPN. Why don’t we help him out instead of belittling him? He had the good sense to get a V.

Thanks for the write-up, it's informative and a good example of the service TwinTurboFan gives to his customers. If I didn't already have a tune, I wouldn't hesitate to use him.

If you look at the time slip you can see that both cars red lit and broke out. The other car is a Nissan GTR and we are both well into our 70's. Who says there is no fight in an old dog? Having a lot of fun, going quick, all thanks to Scott.

 

I wonder if WXM will go back to the track. They did nearly as well years ago. They've gotten more HP since. It would be interesting.

 

Scott and Michael were awesome, best customer service ever, both of were patient and very professional.
Michael walked me thru the purchasing and got me black Friday discounts.
Scott was there throughout the installation and adjusting the software mods to optimize the tune up.
The change is greater than I expected, higher boost, faster acceleration and tighter harder shifts.
Phase 2 I will be installing their Blue package downpipes, throttle body, spark plugs, air filters, and intercooler bleed
I can't say enough to thank these guys.
