my dealer = sucks!

So I took my 08 into the dealer this morning with two issues:

1. The rocker panel, driver side, front end, has about a half-inch gap from the base of the car. I can actually see the black pin sticking up out of the rocker panel that is supposed to go into the base of the car, and I can see the whole in the car where the pin is supposed go, but I can't forced them together (they don't even line up). I Never noticed this before – maybe drove over a pothole?

2. Alignment is off, car pulls in the right. Not severe, but annoying.

As for the rocker panel, dealer says there’s nothing they can do – those are the manufacturing specifications! Meaning the fit on the car just sucks, deal with it.

As for the alignment, car no longer pulls to the right, now it pulls to the left!

Damn! Anyone ever have similar issues? Any advice?

If those are the GM manufacturing specifications, then every CTS would have the same gap in the rocker panel. Bring it to another dealer and/or call GM. Make sure you take some digital photo's of the rocker panel. It's always wise to have good documentation.

What did the dealer say he did for your front end pull problem? Sounds like he swapped the left and right front tires. Again...try another dealer.

Good Luck
there is a board on cadillacforums under general discussion for posting dealer reviews.
you can tell your story, or read others', good and bad.

Ditka, it would be helpful if you filled in your location information in your profile. Someone might live in the same area and be able to recommend a dealership that they have had good experiences with.
