OK, it's alot louder than it used to be, even on lo-fan, and every so often, maybe once or twice a minute, it rattles a little bit and makes an even louder noise. I don't know if it's the blower motor itself or something else in the HVAC system, but I took the blower motor out of the housing, set it upside-down on the fender and turned the car to "on." The motor started spinning and never made any noise, but once I put it back in the car, it rattled a little less but still makes the noise. Any thoughts?

Yeah, its a POS motor with a bushing for the squirrel cage. Spend $15.00 for a new motor at Autozone...lifetime warranty.

Brian,

Had the same problem on my 77. The bearings on the blower had worn. Removed blower, replaced with j-yard part from a newer c-body, problem solved. Good luck.
