Finally got my 94 Fleetwood Brougham out of the body shop this week, a few months ago I was the unlucky recipient of someone's anger issues who keyed up my Caddy on just about every body panel. :nono:

As it turns out, I was able to get my body shop to give me some 'extras' while it was getting a total repaint courtesy of my insurance money. Ghost flames in white pearl metallic, painted taillight trim and chrome body moldings body color, shaved hood ornament and removed some emblems. Then I got a custom 'LT1' emblem airbrushed on made in the style of vintage Caddy emblem design.

Soon I will add some 1.5" drop springs, maybe some window tint, and a new wheel/tire combo.
Some handling upgrades are on my wish list, also, along with a new torque converter.

She's coming along. Never planned to get it repainted, but whenever something 'breaks', I try to take advantage and upgrade - not just simply fix it.

Let me know what you think! :cycle:

Really cool!

Even though the flames really won't look "right" until you get a new wheel/tire combo--flames and stock size whitewalls look a bit odd together, but not bad.

Looks like good work, too!

Nice! I really like the LT1 emblem airbrushed inside of the old cadillac emblem! I was thinking about doing something like that on my LT1 Roadmaster, I was thinking about painting "Corvette Powered" on the area between the front wheels and front doors. I saw someone do that on a Impala SS at Carcraft Summer Nationals in '04.

LOL, I think its really really dumb that some random person would take out their anger on another mans automobile.......not to mention a Fleetwood Brougham.

Nice!

Very swarve :cool2:

Ive had cars keyed before. It can be expensive.

Even worse, someone walked past with a sheet of sand paper and took paint off front fender, door, rear door, rear panel, and trunklid on the 97 MB C280 i had.

At least you got a paint job though!

Yep, I must've made someone really mad at me since they managed to hit almost every body panel. So I got a pretty extensive check from the insurance company.....which I owe in part to a very thorough claims adjuster, nice guy.

I also owe it to my body shop who were willing to work with me on a few things and allow me to break even on custom work based on the amount the insurance co. gave me. Very flexible with me, which I appreciated. They had the car a really long time, but it's worth it to have to not pay any extra money in the end.

The factory pin stripes were counted as two hours per side to paint on.... So at $45/hour body shop rate that gave me nearly $200 extra to play with for extras. Little shortcuts like this worked out in my favor.....

Yep, the grandpa wheels won't cut it for much longer. But the good news is that winter is coming and the car will be tucked away in the garage for a few months so I won't have to worry about that little problem for awhile. I'm already dreading the bills I'll have to shell out for wheels/tires...:bighead: ... I'm thinking a nice set of 18" and 255/50 tires.

It is, tell me about it!

It cost a small fortune to rerpair, i didnt claim on the insurance.

It wasnt like just rubbing it along as they walked either, they scrubbbed each panel in a circular motion. The car was a metallic black too.

I was NOT very pleased when i had to drive it home like that

I am almost certain.

I think it was a kid that bullied my older son as a child, when my son turned 17 (in 1997) i gave him a smallcar to start with. This bully had ben in the shadows for sometime, he had left my son alone. Until my son turnd 17, and although he had his own car, mine was last onj the driveway, so he took it along to the bar (18 is the legal age but we have a friendly barman)

This bully saw my son getting out of a £35,000 car ($60k) and was instantly jealous, even though myu sons car cost little more than a few thousand, the bully thought he was driving the Benz.

SO one day I went to the bar, but there was nowhere to park the spaces were all full, so i put the car in an alley way near the bar. After i left the bar i went for a walk to the beach (its not far). I came back and went down the alleyway and my car was like that. I had seen the bully kid in the bar, and he left about 25 minutes before i did, but his car didnt move for some time after he left. Im pretty sure it was him.

This was 1997 remember, and yes he was 18. And LEGAL action wasnt taken, we settled out of court :p

He 'fell down a flight of stairs' the next night ;)

My son and his pal pummeled him. They dragged him behind a van and beat the living crap out of him. He had bullied my son for a long time, but my son felt guily for getting my car trashed (even though it was not obviously his fault), and he totally flipped.

Nobody touches my Benz.

Except that it's REALLY NOT "Corvette powered".
That's why I have my "LT1-Inside" graphics on my FTS. The Corvette engine dress is mis-representing enough IMO.
