Izzy’s Performance Dyno & Tuning Specialists:
17305 S. Main Street, Gardena, CA, 90248
(310) 817-3216

Took my ’09 Cad CTS-V into Izzy’s for a baseline dyno run. It developed a measly 561 RWHP & a similar sick RWTQ #. To say the least, even though this was on 91 only & alky, I was embarrassed. Izzy & Tom both told me that I should be getting about 620-630 RWHP from my combination. They both told me that if I left it there, they would uncover whatever issues it had and they would not let it leave their shop until it was running mean like it should be. That was Monday afternoon & I dropped it off Tuesday morning. I’m like on pins & needles because I would so like to see it running like it should.

Tom called me Wed afternoon & told me that it was running very chipper at 642 on 91 only & 692 on a 47% mix of E-85 & 91, no alky. Picked it up Thursday afternoon and I am totally stoked as to how it started & run. Significantly more bottom end, mid range, considerably smoother through the entire range. This thing is running so strong I’m afraid to poke it with a stick for fear that it will turn around and bite me.

Many thanks to Izzy, Tom, & Izzy’s crew for their work.

Good to hear, Gary! What was wrong with it before Izzy's? Issues with the tune?

Inter-cooler not totally bled of air, heat soak, high IAT2's, & was previously tuned with alky, now tuned without alky.

Wait a minute...perhaps my memory is failing me, but didn't you trash Tom not too long ago on this very forum? At a minimum, it was something like he wasn't responsive enough and you were very displeased....

Further, didn't you just install a meth unit and sing D3's praises just ~6 weeks ago? (Umm, it's a few threads down...) Now you aren't using it? Huh??

The car had, "issues?" Really? And D3 worked on it? Boy, there's a surprise...

Why not have D3 tune it/fix the tune?

They're wonderful, remember?

And why only 47% mix? That suggests to me that your injectors are way too small. Are you still running ID-850s? Those aren't going to cut it with your combination. Didn't D3 tell you this?

Please, tell me again how great D3 is....this I truly want to hear

No, I did not trash Tom, but I did voice my displeasure. I believe that I later concluded that I was at fault also for asking Tom to do the install and the tune where his specialty is actually tuning. No, I did not install the meth, D3 did, and, yes, I praised their work, and still do. Yes, I am not currently using it, not due to any fault of anybody's other than myself. I was a tad hasty on the decision to use it with E-85, and did not question enough shops to form a good decision. I had about 3 yeses and about 3 nos. The car had accumulative issues not directly assignable / accountable to any 1 shop. And some were probably accountable to my "not so great" decision making. D3 did not cause the tune, that's why. And, yes I consider all of the shops that I have used: Hennessey, D3, CMS, & Izzy's all wonderful. My car would not as nice as it is without their advice, work, & help. And only 47% mix because that's what Tom thought was / is best for my set-up. And, yes, still have the ID 850's and if I want more cowbell, then I will need bigger injectors ($$$$$), another tune ($$$$$) and accept the accountability for a greater chance of parts / breakage.
Wella, fella, nice chatting with you.
