I believe that's what it's intended for. I don't own one but I've certainly been meaning to get one for the DTS alloy's. I don't think you can really hurt chrome with a foam ball.

Honestly That Thing Looks Like The Best Thing They Could Have Invented For Rims No More Scrubbing Or Fine Detailing Just Put The Ballo N The Drill And Get To Polishing...

I bought one of the original, "large" MPBs back a year or so ago - I found it too big to successfully do the Deville or Eldo wheels - However, the newer, "small" size might be the answer.

After I get my wheels really CLEAN (about 1x a year) I put on a coat of Klasse All-in-one, and two coats of Collinite 845 IW - and from then on, just a quick spritz with any APC or a car wash gets all the crud and road grunge off. No need for power tools...
