Well, NODIH was a great help in fixing my initial problem of knock. I replaced the knock sensor, and noticed an immediate gain in power. This however, confuses me, because I am still getting knock. With no codes and clean EGR (yes, this sounds like another post but I don't hijack threads out of respect), I'm wondering how there was a very noticeable gain in power with replacing the knock sensor but still getting the death rattle. In my service manual, I'm told that the knock sensor will tell the EST module to retard the timing up to 20 degrees. No codes, so what exactly is the problem? EST module?
