I just signed up for this. An offer came in the mail today. It is free.

Technophobes might not be appreciative, but I think this is pretty cool.

I just signed up the other day. I got my diagnoses 24 hours later, there was nothing wrong. Got into my car and the check engine light was on. I called On-star and ran another diagnostic, nothing wrong again. I'm thinking it is just the light. Any one else have this problem after subscribing to the OnStar diagnostic?:hmm:
I signed up about 6 weeks ago, haven't had any check engine lights go on. Two reports so far, kinda creepy, Big Brother not only looking over my shoulder but e-mailing me about it. My driver door hinge stopped squeeking though I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with On-Star (or did it???)
LoL

I signed up as soon as they came out. Nothing wrong with a monthly checkup on my CTS. She's in good health so far.

Honestly, it hardl checks anything, you'd probably already be getting a "Check engine" light if the email said something was wrong. But, the potential for more services exist within the system, this is a good learning period.
I had a check engine light come on and Onstar said it was likely a loose fuel cap. Turned out to be defective cat converters and 02 sensors.

But loose fuel caps account for many check engine lights. You must turn the cap till it ratchets (clicks) several times. If the seal it not tight, the system thinks a breach in the fuel system.

btw-I signed up for the remote check and have had 2 reports back. If I am paying for it, might just as well make them do it.
Thanks for the tip SilverCTS.:yup:
I just tried to sign up but I don't have my account number. I hope it's in the glove box.
This email notification is great. I have had it for two months. Among other diagnostics, it shows the % for oil change. The first month showed a lower % and after I changed oil the next month the email showed the 99%. It works. I also just upgraded to the Verizon OnStar Family digital cell phone plan. All of this rocks!

Ugh... sucks I still have analog equipment... I really wish I had the money for the digital upgrade
If you buy three years of OnStar, the upgrade is free. Verizon charges $9.95 per month extra for the extra line.:)

I got an offer in the mail that provided all the info I needed to sign up. But your acct # should be on the OnStar card they provided (i.e. the Credit Card like card they provide upon subscribing to OnStar). I keep mine in my wallet.

Buying three years of onstar doesn't seem very "Free" to me lol not at $575 bucks. I just think the fact that GM did "digital-ready" instead of just installing digital in the first place is hilarious and that they should foot the bill
I'm glad I did the upgrade, and I'm LOVING the Verizon setup. I just do a call forward to my car phone number when I'm in the car and it ROCKS!

The problem is for that much money I could get a used V suspension setup... that is if anyone was willing to sell me one. So to justify just a fancy car phone... or v suspension.... it's a tough trade off
I signed up for it a couple of months ago when I set my fathers up for our new company truck bit I haven't had an e-mail yet. This was 2 months ago when I called them.

All they are saying it they want a commitment from you before they will intall the new equipment. Whats the point if you are never going to renew your onstar sub. I don't see anything unreasonable in that. Its going to cost you the very same amount if you continue to renew onstar for the next 3 yrs after your first year. You sound like you will not being doing that.
I NOTICE ALL YOU GUYS HAVE THE THE 2005 MODELS. I HAVE A 2004.
This is the message I get when I try to sign up for the dianostics.:hmm:
We're sorry. Unfortunately, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics is not available on this vehicle. If you believe that you typed in the wrong VIN, please retype your VIN and resubmit your enrollment request.
It seems this applies to Cadillacs after April of 2004. My CTS was made December 2003 as a 2004 model.:crying2:
I signed up for the service in October but haven't seen a report yet. I did use the service once on my other GM vehicle when my check engine light came on. They correctly diagnosed a loose fuel cap - thanks to the wife.

It's the cash in full issue. I'm a college student, and 575 dollars upfront is different than 25 a month for me

As I recall they said allow 45 days to process.
I did the upgrade. Its a lot of money up front, but it needed to be done.

Jteolis, how do you forward calls, *72, then your #?
