So for those with mods, I was wondering if anyone is having problems with the reliability of their cars after mods. I was a V1 owner with a lot of mods and the car wasn't reliabile enough for me to consider taking it on a road trip (2 or 3 hrs from home). I am considering a few mods: lower pulley, CAI, full exhaust, heat exchanger/ tune and a few others (all from jessee W4M). Anyway are there any concerns out there about mods? Who has had some hipups from their mods and what were they? Success stories are good to kno too.

PS. I've had moded car and I know they have problems but with my V2 id like to keep 100% reliability.

Thanks in advance,
Cowan

There are a number of people running more boost through different pulleys with no issues. Its all in the tune.
There have been a few popped motors but they appear to be very isolated.
1 was too lean to much boost
Another was a hole in the block but Jesse determined it was a freak of nature block bad from the factory.

reliability is important but hp is up there with it! With my V1 I just had issue after issue. Nothing major but just the small stuff that aggivated me to death. I'm anxious to hear what more forum member say over the next couple of days.

You should have no issues with reliability on the mods you are considering.

However id reliability is your main concern, I would not touch it. We both know that will not happen though.

I wanted a little bump in power and went with Behe because they want their cars to make power and last. Kooks headers, Lingenfelter intake tube and 10% overdrive pulley and Behe's tune. The Kooks drops the boost and the pulley and tune bump it back up to 10.8 max, I think. 630hp and it drives exactly like stock and is about to complete its first year with ZERO issues...

Those are the only mods you made and you are at 630rwhp or estimated crank hp? If rwhp, wow...

I have about 30k on mine since the lower pulley was installed. It never left me stranded. It has however left me always wanting more. I just did a Vegas trip which is about 4hrs each way and the only issue was too many other cars on the road :)

Shade is correct, it's all in the tune... Always get a dyno tune, handhelds are too generalized in my opinion.

Luna's car was modded before mine so maybe he can chine in on how many miles he has put on his.

Automatic transmission or manual transmission? If you are automatic, watch out for trouble if you modify.
I still have yet to see people on the board post about tranny failures with modded rides...
Not saying they arent out there but would like to see anyone who has a broken tranny speak up.

Ive installed 9.5" Lower pulley, CAI, Kooks long tubes, with x pipes, heat exchanger, 1.85 rockers.. 2 years with no issues at all! .. i just ported the supercharger + snout + larger Throttle.. pumped it up to 585 RWHP , and 650 RWTRQ, and couldnt be happier.. its allll in the tune... I live in the United Arab Emirates, temperatures vary from 50 degrees F, up to 130 Degrees F.. so reliability in cars like this tend to be an issue if its bumped up a notch.. :)

Thats a good question, Im the type that will drive my car with several WOT runs weekly.

2 years is impressive. How many miles you have on your car? Do you drive it hard?
