Welcome to the forum! This thread is a good place to start... ?

It depends what your priorities are. You can focus on appearance, or power, or handling...on mods that cost anywhere from 'free' to thou$and$. And then there's the question of whether you want to limit yourself to mods that won't conflict with your remaining warranty.

What part of the country do you live in? Considering the time of year, maybe the first substantial mod you want to buy is a set of winter tires (& rims)... ?:giggle:

yea I was looking at the 2.0T and I chose the v6 since I feel that there more reliable since I had one in my 06 CTS and to this day it still runs perfect and I couldn’t pass up the deal I got on the v6 ats so I’ll have to start looking at exhausts since I want it to be louder then it is stock do you have any recommendations?

the V6 is way better than the 2.0T I just had mine replaced at 87k $8k so yeah. but I would suggest just getting an exhaust and a drop in KN and call it good with that engine. its a great engine.

Anyone have any ideas for mufflers or exhaust to put on the 3.6 and I have been thinking about putting a KN as well, have people had any problems with the KN, I saw on the forum that a couple people had to tune it to get rid of the check engine light that came up once they put a KN on. Just wanted your guys opinion.

Well, you asked for an opinion - mine is to save your money on the K&N. I haven't seen in provide any significant improvement on any vehicle I've tried it on (two, for the record: NA and Turbo). What I have seen is increased silicon in my UOAs, which tells me that sand is getting past the filter. I have friends who have also seen problems caused to MAFs and such, particularly after over-oiling (though some were with brand new filters, too).

For these (and other) reasons, I choose not to use it ever again and I recommend the same to others, but you can certainly do what you want.
