That's almost as funny as someone making only one day the official Bourbon Day. This is a good recipe, but I've found it's better to set aside the oz. of bourbon called for to be beat into the whipped cream filling, call together any children hanging around, and enjoy the shot in another room while the brats are busy eating:

I haven't heard from Barry in a while and my thoughts are with he and his bride. Join my in a toast to the health of @TheFlash at 8 pm tonight - in whatever time zone you live.
A bit late, but my toast is counted just the same.
Love and prayers to my main man @TheFlash

Been outside taking care of this nonsense. There was zilch on the ground this morning.

Can't really complain.
We've had a very mild winter thus far.
Yup. Winter's been mild but, man, it's been a snowy bugger of a winter. We didn't get yesterday's dump but they're forecasting 10-15 more cms of wintry mix on Friday - should make for good skiing this weekend but I'm tired of it already.

Really really really would like to get the CT5-V out of storage and get the summer wheels on the XT6. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the skiing just a little longer. You gotta love a sport where gravity does most of the work...

We ended up receiving about 15" of snow (like 3297.6cm ;)) by the time it was over. Lost power for most of the evening due to a vehicle vs utility pole down the road so I sent the wife out for Chinese take-out while I drank bourbon with my brother. Thankfully both fireplaces have a battery backup feature to keep us toasty while the furnace was off.

Today it is bright & sunny and we'll be right around 50°F Thurs and Fri.

Yeah, it looked like a fair dump. I'm hoping that's it for youse - I probably will be traversing through NY state late next week and would rather not fight a storm...

About a half foot more fell after I snapped that pic last night.
Haven't looked much past the weekend for temps yet.

after seeing all the snow you both got I'm no longer mad at the three times in as many weeks the National Weather Service threatened us here with large snow falls that never materialized...when retired, if I can't go out and run errands today, I guess I could try again tomorrow...God willing of course...

'Round these parts most folks are obviously convinced the safest approach to driving in really bad weather is to reduce the time spent in it - - by going faster!
This doesn't apply perhaps so much up yonder north, but I usually get to use this at least once each year. But we're quickly running out of March down here and so far only one those neat 'Surprise Morning Commute 6" Snows And All Melted By The Next Night' :

Earlier in the week, tomorrow's forecast was 10 cm (4") of snow, now it's rain. Spring crud - impossible to keep a black (or dark) car from looking amazing.

You already are the best man, Tim.
Uh...negative, sir.

I had a feeling I was going to be part of the wedding for some time, however this came as a total shock to me which is no easy feat. Another surprise developed later that evening when my wife was asked to officiate the ceremony-- crazy good stuff so of course we all celebrated by eating poorly and drinking way too much.
Woke up in my chair at 3:15 this morning, went to bed for an hour or so and now at work for a half day. Gotta rinse and repeat as @tinman states 'cuz today is my buddies b'day AND St. Patrick's Day!!!

Copy that.

My father was born in Ireland - where St. Patrick's Day was not a big deal (back in the day) so he HATED the day. He was super proud of Irish accomplishments in the arts and its economy, etc. but couldn't stand the stereotypes of the Irish as a bunch of drunken leprechauns. For years, he forbade us to wear green on St. Paddy's - he reasoned that we didn't need to prove to anybody that we were Irish.

He was a complicated man and I miss him. I never wished him a happy St. Patrick's Day but I really wish I could this year.
