Apologies. Got in late last night and after unpacking and gearing up for work today I was beat.
The girls pulled a 9:46 in the 4x800 relay missing medal contention, but still respectable finishing 7th overall. The lead runner was a last minute addition which affected their overall performance, however they still managed to move from 12th (last) place and finish very strong in 4th.

I haven't even watched the video yet myself!
Your girl has a wide fanbase and - among the caliber that was at that meet - fourth is amazing. As is 9:46. Relays are hard - I only ever did one and was shocked that I was asked to do a second but I declined. It is so easy to DQ in those things.

Tell your daughter that her international fanbase is very proud of her.

It's always a victory when the team is advancing in the standings and personal times are improving. Congrats to your daughter. Did I read this is her first games at this level?

I was in awe with the event turnout-- somewhere in the 5,000 athlete headcount so to place is a big deal and I strongly believe that if the original team of 4×8 runners were in attendance they would've medaled. The range of emotions from athletes and spectators was far reaching-- tears of joy and tears of defeat abound. I stood next to a very reserved mother and father as they watched their daughter become a national record champion in the 60m dash. Fist bumps and hugs to people who were complete strangers just moments before.
While Sunday's race seemed to be a heartbreaking disappointment in the moment to the girls, all I could focus on was the fact the last two runners (my girl is anchor) moved the team from 12th to 4th position. To witness that drive and determination was incredible. I know my daughter and she will not see this weekend as a barrier, more of a bar that was set slightly higher for her to get over.

She doesn't give excuses, she finds solutions.

Yes, plenty of sectional invites but this is her first national competition.

Amazing. I absolutely love the vibe of those events and your girl sounds impressive.

My daughter ran her first event tonight at The New Balance Nationals, the anchor in the girls SMR (Sprint Medley Relay). The team did fantastic and my girl took the team from a distant 2nd to 1st in their heat with an 800m time of 2:20--slicing a huge 5s chunk off her PR and ranking 13th overall out of 42 teams in the US skilled enough to receive an invite to this impressive facility.
It's truly an honor to be considered for a national event and these girls showed up tonight to run--couldn't be more proud. I generally don't show my children, but this is public footage. Look at the huge gap she closed and then proceeded to create during her leg...

She runs again in the girls 4×800 relay Sunday afternoon.
Wow, she closed that gap, then opened as much of a gap. WOW!!!
Now about the team name...Genesee?? Beer?!? I thought you were a whiskey drinker! :ROFLMAO:

Genesee is half the name of our school district. The announcers in the booth anunciated it properly while the infield announcer kept referring to them as Team Geneese...it was the running joke (pun totally intended) that these kids were taking names while nobody even knew what theirs was.

Intersting. My philosophy is looking at an issue, knowing there is an answer, then taking the time necessary to find it. Do that a lot with computers.
A good approach, however taking your time in a race usually doesn't work very well.

Most days she's quite the handful- being polite here. Our youngest and only girl is a bad combination, especially financially.
She happens to be extremely smart as well, so perhaps a stacked scholarship will keep us from trading in our Cadillacs for Kias.

Crossing fingers for you. Of course, remember that some Ivy league schools don't offer financial scholarships for sports. If she wanders in that direction, it might be Cadillacs for Kias and your bourbon stock for Busch Light.

I'm explaining to her the advantages of D2 schools over D1 when it boils down to costs. We have her bank rolled, I mean enrolled, into some scouting programs and she's been receiving alot of traffic on her page as well as letters already.
In all honesty, I want her to run for herself. It's her outlet. If it turns into something else, so be it.

Regrettably no room here for a Monday loaded up with five Fridays every week. I had a regular Benchmark a year or more back, but it was sweet and 'unbourbony' enough I had to check the label make sure it wasn't from Tennessee. It was I think a ?Buffalo Trace? like the rest of your catch there (read i.e. daily catch)

On a parallel front, my oldest son is graduating from college with his Bachelors degree this spring and will be moving out to attend Graduate school working towards his Masters. That institutions graduate program reached out to him today offering him a tuition scholarship and a stipend to serve as a TA.
