12 MPG town isn't bad. I would get about 13.6 mpg average in city driving with my LT1 Roadmaster at 146k miles.

My 75/500 gets about 10-11 city. Usually 12-13 highway realistically because out here the highway is generally 80+mph. I can tell it's running a bit rich, probably due to my 5500' altitude.

Well, I have gotten better, but I got ~12mpg in my 472 just this weekend on a 230 mile highway trip.
This is in fairly hilly terrain though with a fair amount of passing, plus rain/snow for part of the trip which further cuts into the economy.
I have gotten around 15 highway going easier on it. The car hasn't returned any lower than 10-12 in mixed driving over the 2000 miles I've driven it. I have been a bit more agressive with the gas pedal of late though, so who knows.
I know I am running rich on the secondaries - I can see some brownish smoke in the rearview when I have my foot buried.

My 1970 Sedan Deville 472cid runs about 12mpg city and 15mpg highway. Im pretty easy on it most of the time, with the exception of a few full throttle bursts once in a while :)
