This happened to the salesman showing me the car. Opened the door for me and the trim piece went flying onto the parking lot pavement. Not the greatest of first impressions, but once I drove the car I was hooked.

This happened also on an ATS they were showing me back 3 years ago. I told the salesman that better not happen to one that I buy. He laughed but I was damn serious.

I found an aftermarket replacement for my used 2014 CTS Luxury (White with chrome handles) on Ebay. The cost to replace from the dealer is much higher since you would need to purchase the entire part to get the slide on piece everyone is referring to in this thread. I chose to purchase a set of 4 just in case one ever fell off in the future. If you want it to not fall off simply apply clear silicon to the inside before reinserting the piece. It slides out easily if you pull the handle out and push from left to right on the arrow piece.
