New headers have small pieces of metal in them. They plug the cats and then they melt. Make sense?

It just depends on certain driving styles, and habits, fuel quality, and modifications done to the vehicles. The more horsepower you make, the hotter your exhaust gets. If the cats overheat, there is potential for a meltdown.

I think my cats melted. I'm going to find out for sure next week when I install my cat-back.

You have two sets of cats, the cat-back only replaces one set. If youre checking you'll have to check the first set coming off the manifold when you're doing the exhaust
