Mary Kay Pearl Tricoat question

Hello,

I am in the process of buying a used 2022 XT5 and have only seen the pics of it online so far. Here is my dilemma. The car appears to be white in the pics. However, on the CARFAX it shows that at one of its service appointments, the color was noted as pink. The original information posted on the vehicle when it was new shows the exterior color as white, with the side note of "Mary Kay Pearl". Does this mean it's a white based pearl paint or is this vehicle going to be pink. I want to go look at it, but it's about a 3-hour drive away from me and don't want to even waste my time if it's pink and not white.

Welcome to the Cadillac Forum. One might wonder the greater appeal for a 'damned near white but more alluring rarer than hens teeth makes everyone look twice faint pink' over the 'just another white one' one?

Guys n gals alike would seriously be "now there's a bloke confident and comfortable in his masculinity". If you're even concerned about that sort of thing. If you're a chick then even more curious the aversion to that color.

I see you're about 3hrs. from Houston, same car maybe:

Thanks everyone. I can't seem to get a response from the people selling the vehicle to confirm the color. I called my local GM dealer and gave them the VIN and they said the RPO color code was GPK which can range from looking white to pale pink apparently. I guess I'll be making a road trip this weekend.

There may be some dyslexia going on. I think the code is GKP. And FWIW, those 3 character codes can be used for different colors (usually close) in different years, but they all have a unique longer code for the color, so different longer codes for GKP if GM changed the color between years.

And for pinkaphobes, Mary Kay says it's a pale coral color.

Mary Kay colour RPO code GKP with touchup WA590Q is a very pale pink.

The Crystal White Tricoat being used on the XT5 (and other models) is RPO code G1W with touchup WA140X.

Searching the codes on PaintScratch:

I used the 2020 list as the 2022 doesn't show the Mary Kay. You can clearly see the colour example chips.

Note the names on PaintScratch don't always match the name Cadi uses in their website (GM will use the same colour on others (Chev, GMC, etc) with different names but same RPO and touchup codes.)

Mary Kay Pearl, 57 Thunderbird "Dusk Rose", etc. is Pink. I've seen a Mary Kay "Pink" Subaru. Pink is Pink is Pink, which is fine. If you like Pink go for it. It's not for me but that's why vehicles come in many colors. If you don't prefer Pink don't drive the 3 hours it takes to get there.

The latest "Mary Kay Pink" is actually a pale, pink-hued, tricoat paint. They start with the same white, add a slight pink tint to it, and finish with the same pearlizer top coat as the white tricoat . The picture above makes it look "pinker" than it really is. That being said, it will definitely have a pink hue to it - it is not pure white.

Interesting that the lettering is still on that one. When the cars are returned to Mary Kay (which happens through the local issuing dealership), ALL lettering and monograms is supposed to be removed before it is re-sold. After that MK is fine with them being sold on the used market (and they actually onload many of their corporate vehicles that way).
