Nice deal for $1200! Watch out for head gasket and tranny issues. I liked the digital dash on those.
There's something about seeing an old Lincoln with the watermark of GM-Classic's lol but those seats look amazingly comfortableThis is the Continental I want.

The main selling point for the car? Airsprings removed, and replaced with coilovers! That was the first question I asked when I called. I have all of my tools in the trunk right now plus some old parts, so the trunk normally sits a little higher. It looks like your rear air bags need to be replaced. If you're interested check out http://www.suspension-alternatives.com/lincoln-continental-air-suspension-kits.php I got my coilover conversion kit from them for my '95 Mark VIII and it was a breeze to install. For your car to do the full conversion on front and back you're looking at $419 which is nothing compared to replacing the air bags themselves
Tanner had found some d'Elegance seats from a late 80's Brougham at the junkyard. The front seats weren't in as good of shape as the back, so I had pillowtop seats in back, stock in front. I'll tell you this much, the early 80's Brougham seats were much better seats than the 90 had. Much more padding, more comfortable.Brian, was your '90 a d'Elegance model? I see pincushion seats in the rear but up front look like the standard seats. :hmm:
Very nice. I was pissed because I bought my Mark VIII and had it for three days and then the level ride sensor went out on the front and jacked up the front end to the point that it blew the airbags which made for lots of fun to drive! But there was a little difference in the ride quality (if anything it was a little better) compared to the air ride suspension so that's one worry spot that you won't have to worry about anytime soonThe main selling point for the car? Oh, I know. My friend used to have an '85 FWB and it had the softest seats I had ever sat in. Here it is and trust me when I say you sank into those seats at least 6 inches, very comfortable.Tanner had found some d'Elegance seats from a late 80's Brougham at the junkyard. Converting from air to non-air suspensions doesn't always work well. I did it on both my Marks and found that they actually handled much better than stock. I replaced the rear air shocks on my '98 Deville and it rode really awkward. Very bouncy out back and liked to shift from side to side over bumps. I remember the conversion struts for the Deville were real long but not think at all whereas the ones for the mark were thick and looked like real springs should.Very nice. Didn't realize you went through so many cars this year. Seems you have the same disease I do..............................it never goes away!:histeric:So last march I sold the 90. That may have been the saddest day of my life, watching her drive away. The 90 was the car I always wanted as a little kid. My grandparents had a mid-80's Diplomat, light blue with dark blue cloth. I grew up loving large RWD luxo-boats. To me, the 90-92 Brougham is the best looking classic American Sedan.
