I bought a used 2007 CTS V that had a Mallett Conversion with 25000 miles in 2017 . I used my credit union to finance it and also bought the 4 year platinum extended warranty . In the 3 years i.ve owned it i have used the extended warranty a few times and everything went fine . My warranty has about 3 months left . Last week i starting hearing a knocking sound coming from the engine and thought it was the Harmonic Balancer which had been replaced about 2 years ago . I brought it to my local dealership and they used a stethoscope on it and said the sound was the number 7 piston slapping The service guy told me they will have to replace the engine and will put a remanufactured engine in it . He also said that they want all receipts for oil changes which i write the dates and mileage in a note pads but hadn't kept the receipts which was foolish by me .My question being should they have to replace my engine with a remanufactured engine or with the Mallett upgraded engine '

My thoughts?
You'll be lucky to get any repair done to a non-stock engine.
I want to be sure I understand the question. Did you buy the car with the Mallett already installed? Or did you buy the car and warranty before conversion?
You have posted multi times with same content
I replied to one of them and you have not replied

I bought my 2007 cts v with the Mallett conversion and 25000 miles in 2017 . The Mallett ID tag Chassis number O/V = 006 . The Build Date of 1/07 . I brought the car to my local Cadillac dealership to check out out a noise which i thought was coming from the Harmonic balancer . The dealership looked at it and said it was number 7 piston slapping and wanted to replace the engine with a stock LS 2 engine with a 100000 warranty , When i bought the extended warranty
, My question is should they replace the engine with the same engine with the Mallett conversion ;
GM/Cadillac will/should have nothing to do with an aftermarket engine conversion. If they replace the engine it will be the original stock type and probably cost you a small fortune.
This is the first hit for my searching what a 'Mallett Conversion' might be. It's the ctsv forum, but for whatever reason the name is getting masked out:

In any case it's right at the same time as your original threads on this forum, and even refers to the same year car as yours. Hopefully some info that matches or crosses over to your case.
Get out of this site and do a simple Google search for "cadillac cts-v mallett engine conversion".
Chuck Mallett does 40 vehicles or less a year
He reworks the engine and suspension
I have a 1999 Corvette Mallett 435 which means after his work the flywheel HP was increased to 435 which was about 100 HP more then a stock '99 C5 with LS1 engine

I bought it in 2000 and it had 750 miles on it
As you can see as to engine he touched about everything internal to beef it up but he uses mild CAMs to assure the car could pass smog testing and the PCM tune was lacking
Chuck was one of the test drivers when GM was designing the C5 Z06 Corvette and used that in how he decided on what to do with a Mallett conversion

He understood suspension better and properly made changes to lower the car, changed both sway bars, Penske race shocks and much wider wheels/tires

As to the OP of this thread as you see nothing is stock internal to engine and if there is any problem there is no way any dealer or insurance company could treat repairs as if stock GM engine and I would not repair in mixing GM parts with the non stock parts Mallett used

In the end I knew I was buying a almost new car that no longer had the GM warranty

Most of what seen below was what Mallett did which BTW had a price tag of just what he did added another $30,000 to the cars sale price
