I'm surprised that the Magnetic Ride Control shocks are not
offered as an option on the CTS. The XLR and SRX can have them
and the '05 STS will have it. Maybe they'll correct this oversite
for the '05 MY.

LOL! HAve you seen the sticker prices on those cars you mentioned? That is why they have them and the SRX does not come standard with them you have to pay to get them. I feel you though I wish I could get them as an option also.

I really like the ride in my 03 CTS, would Magnetic Ride Control shocks make it that much better? How much do they cost in the aftermarket?

The ride would be much better. I have a Corvette (C5) and they introduced
Magnetic Ride Control in '03 as a $1650 option. From what the Corvette
owners say it provides a much smother ride over rough surfaces and
virtually eliminates wheel hop on those surfaces. The shocks also firm
up during hard driving to improve handling. The Corvette has a slightly
different system than what is on the current Caddys. In the Vette you
can select normal or sport mode. The sport mode is used for agressive
driving where you don't want the shock to soften too much for any
reason.

You can't add them aftermarket since there are many sensors which
provide input to firm up or soften up the shock.

Here's a link to a Motor Trend review of the system on the Corvette. I suspect the STS
is getting the same 2 mode one as the Vette. The touring mode is probably
the straight MRC calibration.

I wonder if your dealer has driven the same car with and without it or he just thinks it
is just some fancy nonsense.
