Hey every1. My friend just bought a 2003 3.2L CTS and was curious about how much hp he would get from customizing exhaust himself from singe to dual outlets and should the resonator be removed? Thanks for the info.

Many of you probably wont rem. but i also have a 2003 3.2L CTS with borla exhaust, i told him about my option, but he can get all the parts for magnaflow and spend 50% less than mine.

Also having a CTS-V exhaust on a 3.2L, how does that work? would we still lose alot of torque like the 3.6L owners did.

I think we would lose more torque than the 3.6 guys did. I also want a Borla, but at around 900 dollars, Im not relaly sure if I'm down to spend that much on an exhaust. Ive talked to a few people about addin a v exhaust, and they recommend this: Duplicate that V exhaust set up but with 2 inch pipes from cats to mufflers instead of the 2.5 on the CTS V exhaust. This is basically the Borla set up (2 inch pipes, 2 in 2 out resonator going to 2 mufflers) I dont think getting rid of the resonator is a good idea unless you want a drone from your exhaust, i personally want to keep my car quiet but with a bit of a throaty sound. I am having a shop bend me an exhaust (2 inch pipes) but use the V resonator and mufflers. I'll basically be getting a fully tuned exhaust for about 320 dollars (including the price i paid for the v exhaust) The only reason I am getting a custom bent exhaust is I cannot find a 3.6 exhaust anywhere which is 2 inch pipes with a 2 in 2 out resonator, if I could find one I would jsut use that and use the V mufflers on that.
