Lyriq vs Optiq

Dropped my 2024 Lyriq off yesterday for the complimentary first maintenance despite only being at 5.7k miles as I was approaching the expiration date (1.5 yrs since delivery).

The dealership gave me a 2025 Optiq Luxury 1 with 1.7k miles and in it the past day I found the comparison of it against the Lyriq interesting.

Here are some initial impressions:

- Power: Despite all Optiq’s being AWD I could instantly tell the lack of power vs an AWD Lyriq. even made sure to put the Optiq into sport mode to ensure max tor

- Brake Paddle: The regen/brake paddle (behind the wheel) on the Optiq feels like it is calibrated differently with it being much more responsive.

- Efficiency: Noticed I am getting significantly better efficiency in the Optiq at 3.0-3.2 mi/kWh vs the Lyriq which has averaged 2.7 mi/kWh over 1.5 yrs.

- Exterior design: Was never a fan of the Optiq’s front fascia design. Felt too busy and the lighted grille looks too small imo. The side view looks too stubby imo. The etched glass in the rear quarter panel is a neat design and The backend does look nice though.

- Interior design: Feels like a step down from the Lyriq both materials wise, design, and ergonomically. Despite being smaller than the Lyriq, the door armrest and center console feel too far apart compared to the Lyriq making it not as comfortable resting my elbows on each while driving. One benefit over the Lyriq is they got rid of the chrome strip in the center A/C vent eliminating the pesky glare that happens during certain times of the day.

- Software: Other than the elephant in the room of no Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, one thing I noticed is that when adjusting the volume there is a gear icon which you can tap to open the settings to adjust the individual volume slider for each source (attached pic below).

To summarize, I am glad that I got the Lyriq over the Optiq and hope the Lyriq’s software does get updated eventually to match the Optiq’s.

Any other Lyriq owner try out the Optiq? What are your thoughts?

Is it possible the Optiq piece would fit in a Lyriq? That Glare is killing me when driving, currently I have a piece of thin cardboard wedged into the dash to prevent the sun from reflecting off the chrome piece around the vent.

I agree with most everything you said. However, there is also a large price difference. Plus with the luxury 1 model you get Super Cruse and the 19 speaker package. Not to mention 3 years of OnStar. Once again, I agree with you, but for the price. You can't beat the Optiq. I have a 2024 Lyriq Luxury 1 dual motor, and to be honest. I couldn't be happier. I know a couple of people that bought the Optiq luxury 1 and they couldn't be happier. All in all. I believe Cadillac made a great car in both cases.

I had an Optiq as a loaner for a couple of days while my LYRIQ was in for it's 22.5K maintenance (a tire rotation) and also for a couple of minor warranty repairs. I liked the Optiq 500E4 OK but it was definitely not the same luxury standard as the LYRIQ. It was louder, had a harsher ride, and the trim around the display panel, while it didn't have the reflectivity of the LYRIQ, was well, ugly IMO. Also the cloth texture on the doors and the console were a bit over the top.

I was really amazed at how much comfortable the LYRIQ was when I picked it back up.
