Since I am in Daytona......this is from my team.

Starting at the beginning of February, dealerships will be able start reaching out to their customers in regards to ordering the 2024 Lyriq. Customers will not receive notification from Cadillac directly. The dealership will be able to send out a ordering link to the customers. The customer will then click on the link to order their 2024 Lyriq. They will be able to order exactly what they want in the build your own site. Once they are finished they will submit to dealer. Dealership will receive the order in the connected showroom and push over to order work bench. If the customer makes a mistake, dealership will be able to adjust anything on the order prior to it going into production. Once the order gets pushed into production via allocation from the dealership, that order is locked in.

Cadillac also announced a private offer of $5000 for Lyriq customers that ordered between 5/18/22 – 11/30/22 for the 2023 Lyriq. There will be a manifest list sent to the dealers that they will go off of and reach out to the customer to let them know. 2024 Lyriqs will also have the Qmerit $1500 offer or the 2 years of EVGo.

@Lockhart Cadillac Will the build your own site be more flexible than the order guide we’ve seen. Do you happen to know?

Pre-ordered between the dates listed.
I pre-ordered a 2024 Lyriq in June, 2022. By that time, pre-orders for 2023 Lyriqs were no longer available online. So not sure how anyone could have pre-ordered a 2023 Lyriq as late as November. Do you know if the $5,000 discount will be available to 2024 pre-orders that were within that date range?

Was there any guidance provided for how all pre-orders sent to a dealer last year are to be handled with regards to being sent an order link? I also pre-ordered in June last year and would hope that those in the June-November window would get some kind of priority.

I also pre-ordered in June 2022. I was "waitlisted" for a 2023 model. This is awesome news to me! Saving 5k😁

Interesting thought here, but with the 5k rebate, could the 2024 tech trim fall under 55k and make it eligible for IRA tax credit?

Problem is the tech trim has literally no options. Bare bones, shell with seats.

I'm doubtful because the price cap for the IRA tax credit is based on a vehicle's MSRP per the statute. That said, the government hasn't released regulations on this yet, so it's at least possible that MSRP will be interpreted to mean after discounts.

I’m doubtful as well. In the end won’t matter to me, as I do not qualify and have no interest in the tech trim. But if it did somehow qualify that would be a pretty awesome deal. Potentially close to 45k

Many dealers didn’t enter the workbench order until months later after the May 18/19 order dates. My guess is the date range was to cover folks who had dealers that were slow entering.

Jason said above that Cadillac will supply dealers with a list of who’s eligible so they can contact them. I guess that will be the definitive document.

I spent some time creating a spreadsheet to compare the price for the DE/2023 vs the 2024 with and without the $5,000 GM early pre order credit. I also tossed in the option for half and full tax credit just in case the feds change the classification and the Lyriq ends up qualifying for it.

You can play around with the google sheet here. Set a filter and remove the trims that don't interest you to see a cleaner view.

I think most people are comparing the 2023 to the luxury 2 and 3 trim levels of the 2024, so here are some basic comparisons of the base prices for each model with no extras added.

MSRP
  • DE/2023 RWD - $62,990
  • 2024 RWD Luxury 2 - $66,990
  • 2024 RWD Luxury 3 - $70,590
MSRP less $5,000 GM Credit on 2024 MY
  • DE/2023 RWD - $62,990
  • 2024 RWD Luxury 2 - $61,990
  • 2024 RWD Luxury 3 - $65,590

  • DE/2023 AWD - $64,990
  • 2024 AWD Luxury 2 - $65,490
  • 2024 AWD Luxury 3 - $69,090
I know this all pretty basic math, but seeing the numbers laid out in a chart might make it for those of you who are shopping by price. I'm lucky in that I am up for allocations with my dealer for a 2023, but maybe I want to wait for a 2024 option.

If we somehow get lucky and the Lyriq ends up qualifying for the full $7,500 tax credit, then that would bring the effective price of the RWD down even further.

MSRP less $5,000 GM Credit on 2024 and $7,500 tax savings:
  • DE/2023 RWD - $55,490 (no GM credit)
  • 2024 RWD Luxury 2 - $54,490
  • 2024 RWD Luxury 3 - $58,090
One can dream, right?

A few points, as I've been thinking about this also...
  • DE price isn't the same as 2023 RWD. DE was $59,990. Cadillac raised the price $3K for 2023.
  • Both DE and 2023 RWD have the option for 22" wheels. These are were a $1500 option. For 2024, they are included in Lux 3. So the pricing is a bit different comparison based on wheel selection - not just RWD/AWD
  • You didn't show the Tech trim, but if anyone selects that at $58590, with an additional $5000 off, that is way cheap (comparatively speaking)
