Those of you with LYRIQ's on order.....Have you bought or installed home chargers yet? I am looking into possibly offering a package that we could ship to you. Obviously we could not install but you could get the Qmerit assessment and take advantage of the $1500 (From Cadillac) for cost of installation which includes labor, permit, and materials. Please respond below. Just trying to gauge interest. Thank You!

Price is undetermined at this point but it will be very aggressive based on competitors. Level 2.
Appreciate your reply, but would need specifics on price and power level. Level 2 is a bit to open ended, which generally ranges from 30A (7.2kW) to 80A (19.2kW). And with wildly varying price from $200 to $1500, depending on make/model/power.

Got very lucky…. Builder installed the plug in the garage, and that was 10 years ago! But did have to add a neutral/ground additional wire. Now only a 50Amp line but works fine! ABC… don’t really see the advantage of upgrading to a 80-100 amp. As the cost of wiring is crazy!

I have looked in L2 chargers for home. You don't need a smart charger, the car should mange charging. For home 11.2KW more than enough so a dedicated 50amp circuit will do it. Looking at the chargers, the Grizzl-E is rock solid all weather if needed, and priced at $395 and can be plugged in or hardwired.

Not exactly. A 50A circuit will support 40A charging (9.6kW). Per NEC, you always need to derate the EVSE to 80% of the circuit it is on - for continuous draw applications. So even if the particular Grizzl-E EVSE may support 48A (11.5kW), if you use this on a 50A circuit, you must set it to a 40A setting (9.6kW). Which is still fine, and plenty fast charging for most people. If you want the full 48A (11.5kW), you would need to hardwire the unit to a 60A circuit.

Thanks, wrote that from memory and should have reread the specs.
At 40A, they say 28-30 miles per hour, which for an overnight home charge is more than enough for most folks. For daily usage typically you don't change more that 80% unless you are planning a long distance trip that morning.
