I've got a 2011 ESV. It's not a Platinum. How can I tell if it is a Luxury or a Premium? I know it's one or the other.

Cheers,

Hank

The "premium" body change didn't happen until 2012, looks like a platinum on the outside but with a body matched grill and door handles instead of chrome and has the Platinum rear bumper with smoked tail lights. In 2011 it just looked normal.

2012+ Premium (with the LED headlight option, this was standard on Platinums, optional on Premiums)

I have a 2013 Premium and a 2010 EXT with a Premium front end, it's very much worth the upgrade visually!

I would have went for the Platinum if it had a mechanical not cosmetic difference. I can't see why I would pay over 10k for 2 DVD headrests, bumper (which I prefer the tow hooks instead on the non-platinum) and rims. The tow hooks came in handy a couple of times. I do have a 2008 Escalade with the Sport Luxury Package. This was only done for 2008 which has the body colored grill, 8 spoke rims and chrome tail pipe.

Cadillacs are always known to have chrome, I really like the chrome and I do agree the platinum has too much chrome. I don't really like the all chrome door handles on the platinum which is over done. Everyone has there taste and the truck is beautiful in diamond white to me. I tried to love the 2015+ but its not working for me so I leased my wife the new gun metal Tahoe LT which is the best looking one out there. Yesterday we had a record snow storm in Queens NYC and there was a new Range Rover in front of me and the truck shut down with no power. The owner of the Range Rover had his family in the truck. :suspense:

I do like the black seats from the platinum which was not available until 2012. I have the dash leather top in my 2008 from a 2012 platinum with black interior. I paid $200 and it was well worth it, gave the truck a nice touch. In the resell market the platinum is not much different than the non-platinum. The 2012 and up premium is my favorite truck.

ok, I will take a picture today, it actually looks nice with the leather dash top. I paid $200 for it on eBay and it was easy to install. My truck has the black interior so you will need the top from a 2012-2014. I was able to change it while my wife was in Targets shopping. You don't need to change the smaller top piece by the windshield bc the Platinum's one is also plastic as well.
