I'm from the CTS Forum. Didn't know if you guys were aware of this tidbit of news. The LS7 would really kick some a$$!!

Good news for the V Guys!! Maybe a new platform for the CTS redesign.

Cadillac-CTS/CTS-V- CTS-V will move to the 6.0L V8 by 2006 as production of the 5.7L LS6 ceases. The CTS is scheduled for a redesign in 2007. It is possible Sigma might be dumped at this point for a luxury version of the Zeta platform. It is rumored that the CTS-V will get the 6.4L LS7 powertrain in 2008.

given the price difference it would take to put an LS7 in a car, motor alone is $14K vs. $6-7K for LS2, i don't think it is going to happen. i think a 6.2L LS3 is more likely, we all know how well the current drivetrain handles 400hp, 500+ would be disasterous, and also realize EPA guideline are only getting tougher...

they are having enough trouble selling the V at 50K, 60K would open them up to a lot more competition, M3 4 door, RS4 etc. and not that i would ever buy one, but perception is everything.

Wow, has it been a week already since we have had an LS7/CTS-V post?:bonkers:

The 2008 (was supposed to be 2007) will be redesigned and hopeully with the LS7 in the back of the designers minds. They may do the 6.2 in the regular V and do the LS7 or a newer version of it in a super V. From what I am hearing is that the LS7 may not last long before it gets improved with a new name.
