I'm very excited. I have a well known shop installing a 2007, Z06 clutch and flywheel tomorrow. A bearing spacer was acquired from TPIS and it should all be done tomorrow evening.

The flywheel is supposed to be ~45 lbs Vs our stock dual plate at 80 lbs.

I'll report my findings after I've had a chance to drive it.

Awesome, my stock clutch is just about shot and in the next few months I will also be in the market for a new clutch/flywheel/pressure plate setup. I hope it all works great for you and if it does, I (and probably a lot of other guys on the forum) would really appreciate an indepth review of the setup and what, if anything, special the shop had to do to get that baby installed. Good luck.

Well, I've put about 800 miles on the new clutch/flywheel setup and I can honestly say WOW!!! The LS7 combo along with the Katech shifter is fantastic. That shifter (I don't know what the UUC is like) is so positive in how it places you in gear (yes, including 1st and R), that I think this is how the V's should have come from Cadillac. No more misshifts or having the shifter come right out of gear in reverse. The clutch grabs about in the middle with plenty of good driveable slip room for every day traffic.

If you have a good contact at a dealership the combo, including new slave cylider could be as low as $700! That's a deal.

You can expect to pay about $1,600 at FLP, where I had mine done. Give them some interest and they'll become another great supporting vender here.

Got a couple of questions for ya...

What is the Pn for the LS7 clutch assembly?
What was the thickness of the clutch slave spacer?
Is it manditory to change the clutch slave?

Thank you for your time

The flywheel for the 2007 C6 vette is the same for the LS7 and LS2 motors. The mass is 26.5lbs. That's acually a little more than the C5 Z06 flywheel, which is 25lbs.

The V dual-mass flywheel weighs in at 45.4lbs.

The part number for the LS7 clutch and pp combo is 24238412.

DOH! I was misinformed about the weights. Sorry.

I can say that this combo feels right though. I would recommend this to anyone. My local Service Writer took it for a spin and mentioned that this was great too. Since I told him what I had done to the car, only then did he pay attention enough to notice the difference in how the clutch feels. Otherwise he said that it felt stock. That can be good for those of us still under warranty.:contract::cynic:

I feel like these guys: :jesda:

Does it improve anything else? Links clunks or anything? With my car, when I'm going down the highway at around 60mph, if I'm going slightly downhill, if I let off the gas, when Iget back on the gas I get a shake from the front.

I just had my motor mounts replaced, but that wasn't it.

SlothV did post the Clutch Assy part #
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/1244909-post6.html

The spacer can be purchased from a number of vendors.

I also would be interested in why the Slave Cyl was replaced.
Replacing the slave cylinder was more of a PM idea thrown in by FLP. They usually replace that on many of the LSX cars for which they do clutch work. They said mine was a bit leaky so I guess it was a good thing.

Now, a few thousand miles later and some track time and I like this combo more and more.:cool2:

Makes sense.

I am on the move to purchase the combo...I will however be makin my own spacer. 15-20mm in thickness dependin on actual difference in the clutches...

That would be a handy thing to be able to do. Is your Caddy with you in Kuwait? Are you a soldier?

AHEM!!!! You know using my name in Vain will only lead to your own downfall...

I am an American. My mom is from Robstown Tx, and i have spent many months in San Antonio Tx...And on my vacation time i venture up to Canada to freeze my balls off, while i feast my eyes on beautiful women...

So before we lable me as a "Local" or a "SheetHead" be warned, i can find out where you sleep....

Mind you a friend of mine realised why so many Arabs are aggressive, theres no porn, no boose, no fkn women, no fun, the worlds against them...So they fk it all for the rest...You want peace in the middle east bring boose and women...the rest will settle down..
