Hi all,

I own a 2004 Deville, 70,000miles, immaculate condition, serviced regularly. This car has always had a loud belt while idling. It was brought to the dealership numerous times at 30K, 40K, 50K, etc, they'd band-aid it and it'd quiet down for a couple weeks. I've had my mechanic quiet it down, not sure what he did and it'd last for a couple weeks.

My father recently bought a beautiful 2010 DTS (I know, I'm not on the DTS forum). Now it has about 8,000 miles on it and it's just as loud as my 2004 Deville! Same deal, he went to the dealership, band-aid fix, it was quiet for 2 weeks and now it's back.

I welcome any and all insight! (and thanks everyone, for teaching me how to pull DTC codes)

A noisy belt is either an out of alignment pulley or a bad bearing. Mine is quiet at 87K.
