help i have a 98 sedan deville that is now howling at the moon it is the s belt i need to have some assistance it is very difficult to change this belt and what tools are needed.. how do you check to see if tension pulley is too loose??? i have planned all year to go to NASCAR and now my car i driving me crazy... thanks :crying2:

Look on the back of the tensioner and you will see a 1/2" square hole. Use a 1/2" drive breaker bar in that hole as a lever and release the belt tension. Now you can spin the idler and tensioner wheel to see if or which bearing is howling.

Changing the belt shouldn't be too hard, thoughadmittedly, I never had to change mine til I sold it at 107K. I have heard it said to take a 2-3' lenght of 1/2" copper water pipe and flatten the last inch or two, then bend it to an "L". Use that as a third had to get in where it is tight to manuver the belt.
