Thanks for the update on the folding issue. I will check it out. The manual, I thought mentioned a specific switch.Are you talking about the mirror glass or the mirror housing
If it's the mirror glass it could just be loose
If it's the mirror housing then the whole housing has to be replaced
Fyi your truck does have power fold the 03+ has the control integrated into the mirror adjustment controls(just set the mirror selector in the middle and press the left to fold out and right to fold in)
I found the reason for my confusion. Having two Escalades is taxing my feeble brain. They both have almost the same features but are operated differently. I never seem to know where things are after driving one or the other for a while. My 2005 manual defines exactly what you were saying. However I was remembering what my 2013 manual said about having a special switch to fold the mirrors. The whoe mirror housing moves IN when I close the door. It pivots inward at the folding joint. Really no way to tighten the pivot point?

the cadillac man, thanks again, I rechecked the manual and you were correct. Don't know why I thought there was a different switch. In fact the owners manual stated that if they have been manually folded they may not be stable until they have been electronicly unfolded to be correctly set. I did electronicly unfold and low and behold the window is no longer unstable when the door is closed. Thank you again.
