Hello,

New guy here. Need some opinions on this car since I am unfamiliar with them.

Can you all enlighten me as to things to look out for in a used CTS. Known mechanical issues or maintenance that needs to be done at this point that I should ask about. Also, how are these cars in snow? I would be running dedicated snow tires at all 4 corners of course.

2003 3.2 6 cylinder with 64K miles
Says it has Luxury and Sport package (what do these include?)
Express Moonroof
Side Airbags
1 Owner
Blue Onyx with Light Neutral Interior
$10,500 IS this a good deal?

i think thats a pretty good deal i picked up my cts at 68k for $10k with the sports pck as well rides great ive only had on issue which was to replace the temp sensor that was about 2 months later after i had bought it

i live in denver and we get quite some snow here, for a rear wheel drive car its actually pretty good it has a snow trac button you press and builds better traction it starts taking off from 3rd gear

and with sport mode on its a much quicker response since it drives at slightly higher rpm, car has great braking and handling auto dim rearview mirror all in all im happy

Anyone else?? I see 50 views, but only one opinion! I really need some help here since I am totally unfamiliar with the car and it's reliability as well as serviceability. I am in a bind for another car and am about to buy sight unseen to fill a gap in our fleet.

Is the CIL on..? If not, thats a good indication car has been serviced well. Regardless, ask for maintenance records/history.

Also, on 03s. ECM code history can be accessed using F1-F6 radio button procedure.

That's the same model I have, except mine's White Diamond.

I bought it with 59,000 miles and it now has about 64,000 on it.

Only had two problems (Cylinder Misfire and Crank Position Sensor).

Other than that I love the car.

teto4411 pretty much covered the Sport and Winter modes.

The Bose sound system is good if you like your music loud but not obnoxious.

Heated seats come in handy during those cold winter mornings lol.

03 is a good car.
things to watch for are crank position sensor, valve cover gaskets leaking and the PCV system needs to be upgraded with a service bulletin that GM released.
also a brake hose recall.
