Hey, I'm new to the forum, potentially looking at pulling the trigger on a cts-v wagon 6mt with 60k miles.. I test drove it and found a couple small issues, like brakes feeling "warped" but I'm planning on having a shop take a look at it before I pull the trigger.
Some things on my list that I specifically want to check:
Clutch wear
Shocks - leaking (is there anything else I should be looking for here?)
Fluids - I want to see records of gearbox and diff fluid changes, but then also check the coolant system, if it hasn't been changed, I'd probably do that (I don't think that's a deal killer).
Anything else I should be looking at specifically? I've searched and haven't come up with any common failures. Some talk of some suspension bushings etc, but otherwise not much. The supercharger was already replaced under warranty at 40k miles.
It looks like a previous owner did some modifications, but the current owner doesn't really know much about them. It has the lingenfelter CAI, and I think it has a smaller upper pulley and perhaps an exhaust. I want to check what exactly was done, and specifically I have some concerns that if someone just threw parts on it and didn't appropriately tune it, would that be long term detrimental to the car? I'm very familiar with boosted engines, but almost always in a 4 cylinder variety, so I'm not sure how tolerant the LSA (or specifically the ECU is) to modifications without tuning.
