Looking at a 02 tomorrow. Common problems?

I am looking at the short version of a 02 Escalade tomorrow. I used the search function and did not come up with anything other than certain problems people had. I am not new to forums and will be around here for a long time if all goes well tomorrow. He says the transfercase leaks and he stopped using it and hasnt moved since. Is there a rebuild kit or can I swap one in from any tahoe or yukon? What does a used one go for if its trashed and I need to replace it. More importantly what are the common issues to look for when I go look. My buddy has one of the EXT ones and he likes it. I am worried about the air ride if it goes out, how expensive of a fix is this for the air bags and compressor? Any aftermarket companies that make good parts for a fraction of the cost? Also wondering if the air ride does go out in the back and its extremely expensive to fix, can't you just use shocks that would fit the tahoe and yukon? Obviously the sensors would be on but is there a bypass?
Thanks guys, hope to be here for a while!

The transfer case is a Cadillac only setup as It is a single speed full time unit you may be able to find a used one at a junk yard(if you can't get the seal replaced)

I suggest driving it to make sure that the engine and transmission is in good shape

The front axle is a common issue with these vehicles along with the shocks and compressor

As far as getting aftermarket parts for the suspsion system can be got on the arnott website(they are a sponsor and vendor on here) they sale both rebuilt oem shocks and compressor replacements along with passive gas shocks

Another suggestion is check and change the fluids(if needed)

Drivetrain should crossover with the gmc denali it has the same setup
I know some has the controls on the dash and some don't the rpo codes is the best way to be sure but I haven't seen a gmc Denali in person but the service manuals I have mention the yukon for the transfer case so they must use the same model(I always thought the gmc yukons shared the hummer h2s transfer case I guess I was in error)

Yeah the denali's are the only ones along with certain escalades with no transfer case controls which makes the difference between awd and 4wd.... The regular yukons long or short and the suburbans and tahoes may share the same t-case as the hummer because they are 4wd but as well i am not positive
The hummer is full time selectable all wheel drive
The modes are
60/40 normal high mode
50/50 high range transfer case locked
50/50 low range transfer case locked
And has a electric locking rear differential
I know because my dad has one(quite a capable off road machine for its size) and is heck for me to park

The regular yukons and both Chevys have a part time transfer case which means they are rear wheel drive most of the time(although I heard from my uncle that more gm trucks are getting the all wheel drive in place of the part time system(same as the hummers transfer case setup) I know gmc is one not sure on Chevy

So lets say the air ride goes out on it. Can I replace the airbags with shocks like the tahoes and yukons have? And if I can't, what does a compressor run and air bags? I ask this because that just seems to be the only expensive common problem over time. It has 140,000 miles on it by the way. Any certain time they go out after? Any other help is appreciated. I am looking at it tomorrow, as he had to go out of town for a while.
The air shocks and compressor can be got from arnott's website the compressor is 185.27(I bought mine from my local dealer as I didn't like the looks of the dryer as it looked a bit rusty)but the shocks are around 379(not including the core charge) here is the link for the shocks

Here is the link for the compressor

I am going to make a improvement to the intake box to prevent water ingestion (which is the cause of the service ride control message due the solenoid failure)
