Hi:
I just purchased a GForce chip which is supposed to gain about 35HP and 5-7 MPG plus run cleaner emissions. I'm hoping it does what it says and may possibly clear my engine code for a catalytic converter.

It installs by splicing into the IAT wires on the MAF sensor just ahead of the air filter in the air housing. There are 5 wires in the sensor plug. 2 are for the Intake Air Temp and the other 2 are for the MAF. Has anyone split these up before or perhaps have a wring diagram to share?
Thanks

I was thinking the same thing. I have a spare hydrokoptic farzle vane I'm looking to get rid of real cheap.

4dr-ls6 - don't get your hopes up. I hope you didn't pay too much for that 'chip'. You will be better off getting a tune from a shop. They can turn off the rear O2 sensors that are telling you that the cats aren't working properly. They will also get the best/most amount of power from your motor. If they know what they are doing, they can squeeze about 2-3 more mpg out for you on the highway. Cheating the iat and confusing the computer is generally not the best way to go.

You know they have them sensors for a reason. May as well rip out the IAT and let it dangle from the fender. Same result, $60 cheaper. All the best. As always do your research. I assume you have and didn't just read the website brochure, right?

Lol. Yep.

BTW OP if you have your heart set on doing this stupid "mod" the Magnuson MP112 installation instructions show you which wires you need. It can be found on their website and includes pictures.

Ah, OP, if you're not getting what we're alluding to here. DON'T DO IT or you'll find yourself blowing something that's hard to reach when your motor starts knocking on a nice warm day.

Seriously, no such thing as a 'chip' for this car or any for that matter.

Guys that don't understand how this mod works take it from a few of us that do and DON'T. It is only tricking the PCM into believing it is receiving much colder air and thus increasing timing and power. That might sound ok but there is a reason the PCM needs to pull timing when the IAT's go up...
