Lingenfelter Package

Has anyone done or considered the new Lingenfelter package?:

Intake
Blower pulley swap
Custom Tune

74 WHP and 64 WTQ increase

$1995 installed (I called them about the price, it does include install and the custom tune according to what they told me on the phone).

They also have a 3 yr warranty. I asked about shops near San Antonio, and they gave me the name of 21st Century Muscle Cars in the Dallas area that they recommended.

Personally, I'm going to hold off for a while until more data comes out about the results, but it looks like a good deal for the $$$, especially if you live near Indiana. It will be fun to see what final dyno numbers come out after headers and/or cat back systems are added.

I'd compare this package to what Wait4me offers as I suspect you'd get more bang for the buck or same bang for less bucks from Jesse.

The price seems ok but the total RWHP seems less than what W4M and others are getting for similar mods. Wonder if Lingenfelter is tuning down for motor/trans life expectancy?

Didn't Wait4Me get 50+ RWHP on only a tune?
This from memory so someone correct me if I am incorrect.

wait4me tune 30-50rwhp

wait4me airbox mod 20rwhp

wait4me exhaust 18rwhp

Have to have wait4me air tube and airbox mod for below pulley swaps.

blower pulley swap 70rwhp

crank pulley swap 100rwhp

The numbers do seem a little conservative. Maybe with the 3 yr warranty, they have to be.

for $2000 BUCKS??!??!!? It's no way they could afford to charge so little an include a exhaust mod. Most decent exhaust packages run about $1500 on their own.

The $2000 seems to include essentially a 1) Boost 2) a Tune 3) a new Air Filter 4) a Dyno Report and a Warranty

74HP and 79lbs... NOW THAT'S the ease of Modifying a Corvette "Special."

LOL... Try that with a HI-MAINTENACE M or AMG:D
I had a Lingenfelter heads/cam package done to my C5 Vette which was advertized at 430hp several years ago. When the car was done and dynoed with the upgrades, flywheel hp actually came in at 469, so their V2 numbers are probably also conservative.

However, I had my C5 tuned about a year later by a very good Vette tuner, and he not only got another 18 hp to the wheels, but his tune seriously woke up the car, it almost felt like I had done another cam. I would surmise that the LPE V tune is probably conservative.

LPE were great folks to work with, and the quality of the package was impeccible. I never had an iota of trouble with that car after they had workied it. I was very happy with them.

I expect they will come out with some good upgrade packages for the V2.

And that's really the key to LPE's packages. They may be on the conservative side, but they do that for a reason. Don't think for a moment that a company with more years tuning SBCs than a lot of us have been alive (!!) can't squeeze every last morsel of power out of an engine. They can. They're looking out for long-term reliability with their tunes, and generally tend to tune their engines on the conservative side.

I've also had fabulous luck with my old C5 383 CID stroker from LPE, back in the day. I beat the snot out of it for over 7 years at the local road course and it never once hiccuped.

We sold Ken the owner of Lingenfelter their Thunder Gray V with no roof. I have not heard what they are doing to it as of yet.

Yes, it is possible to get ~50 from a tune alone
