I just bought an 04 from another state, and it doesn't have the front plate bracket, New York (in its infinite wisdom) requires a front license plate.
does anyone know of a place where I can buy one of these. I've been keeping an eye on ebay, and saw one for a CTS-V but the ad says it doesn't fit the "regular" CTS.

Go to the dealer. That's where I got mine. It was less than $25 if I remember correctly.

The V does have a different bumper. When I added my V bumper I don't remember switching out the holder. But that was a long time ago back when I owned a Cadillac!

exactly they give you 15 days to bring it to the department and have it checked. If it is corrected then no fine.....if not they send the ticket in the mail

I never had my front plate on any of my cars. Only once i got stopped but that was because they had a road block and was pulling everyone over just to make some money:rant2: But i just heard from a friend of mine that NJ might take the front plate law away so we wont have to have one. Has anyone else heard of this who is from NJ????:hmm:

May I suggest Body colored Duct Tape? Demand the best and no holes required!!

i think i have a solution for you. i saw someone else with a v front end and they have the plate in the bottom grill. just wire it to the grill, zip ties, or bolt it to the grill if you want it permanent. should be enough for your fix a ticket.

I have my front plate on for three reasons:

1. Cops will give you a ticket if you don't.
2. Holes were already drilled when I bought the car (used). Even though I could probably fix it, see #3.
3. I paid extra money for vanity plates. Why pay for that if you are only showing 1/2 of what you paid for??
