Are the FWD and RWD versions similar in external engine dimensions? I've been searching here and with Google for a couple hours trying to find the length/width/height on the 4.6L in my '06 STS, and the only thing I'm finding appears to be for a FWD version (largely as it was posted in 2006, and I doubt many people were swapping the relatively new motors around...). Looking at engine swap possibilities, my STS is in storage across town, and I figured Google would be a quicker way to find this out than driving across town with a tape measure, lol.

Your RWD 2006 STS will accept a 2006 RWD STS Northstar engine in the same option calibration as supplied originally.

The FWD sidewinder engine won't come even remotely close to going longitudinal.

Not at all what I'm attempting to do, or even thinking about....but also trying to avoid the "you're going to ruin that car" debate as well.
