Hello everybody!
I'm thinking here... I would love to know and discuss opinions about our OEM grilles for 00-05 Devs.
I think plain Deville have the best looking grill. It looks accurate and neat. DHS/DTS have weird cheapy-looking black (or body painted) regular grille but with huge crest.
I think plain Deville grille looks more classical you would even switch. I don't like mine.

What do you think? What is your opinion? Would you change your grill for another OEM one?

(Please, don't discuss aftermarket custom, OEM only)

I like the larger openings in the DHS/DTS grille, and to me, a hood ornament doesn't look quite right on the last gen Deville body.

I have a white diamond DHS - and I like that grill better than the base Deville -
HOWEVER - I do prefer the painted DTS grill to the gray DHS grill -

The 05 limited edition grille, to me is by far the best looking grille for that era deville.

Unfortunately those with the hood ornament have some modifications to do if you aren't into double emblems.

Yet, I feel that is the best oem grille.

I guess it is impossible to find now.

Guys, you are saying you prefer dhs one, but that one looks very simple if compare to deville one

the body colored surround comes with the grille ... all one piece
the accessory grille pictured in post #4 was sold in a few colors pre-painted and also primed ready to paint
all other stock/factory grilles would usually come unpainted ready to paint (aka paint-to-match)
sometimes they will have the option to come pre-painted but that's kind of rare
and some will come unprimed ... usually gm will prime the paint-to-match parts though

----------

my parts catalog is showing a three grilles

#89025060 -> base luxury non-painted with no emblem
#89025120 -> paint-to-match with spot for emblem (emblem sold separately i think)
#89025119 -> paint-to-match with spot for night vision camera

all three are unprimed and would need to be primed and painted
all three of these grilles could be had on a regular deville (depending on options)
the DHS and DTS could have either of the second two depending on the night vision option

the accessory grille pictured in post #4 came in four colors plus a primed version

#17801386 -> cashmere
#17801387 -> black
#17801388 -> white gold
#17801389 -> gray
#17801390 -> primed

they used to sell for around $250-$325 depending on the color
they are all discontinued and not a single dealer has any stock left
as far as I know used is the only way to get one of those accessory grilles

so there you have it ... a little obsolete history lesson for the day

Well, I got dhs.. I got to keep it Dhs. I have crest on the hood and if I put dev grille I will look like complete Deville. I want to keep my originality... Even having crest on the hood :)

I'm confused. You have a silver DHS, want to keep it original, but you're asking about a black or primed grille?

And if you just want a different color grille, why not just paint yours?

I'm asking for original black DHS grille with old crest and silver bezel. And I want it in pristine condition. Mine look horrible after 12 years: beaten up by rocks (big dents and scratches), faded paint, chrome peels of, etc... Plastic is plastic.

Personally I think E&G mesh grill on a DTS is the way to go,but E&G has some other styles that look good on a deville or DHS. It looks expensive (because it is) and makes the front a bit more better rounded lookin with class. The honeycomb is nice but like you guys said the bezel should definitely match with the body color.
