Have ordered my V-grill, E&G exhaust tips and the Volant CAI. Just need to find timew to go look at wheels. Since my CTS is Light Platinum I have been curious as to how Hyper Black or Gun Metal wheels might look. I haven't had much luck in finding photos of other Platinum/Silver CTS with other than slver or chrome wheels.

Will post pics as the car comes along.

i am/was seriously contemplating it. theres just something very sporty like about black wheels...just weren't sure how they would go with the white diamond versus a true white color. i also tried to find some pics of white cars with black wheels and came up pretty short...

well thanks a lot, i had already made my decision but i guess i'll have to think about it more. i'm just looking for a unique look that someone will go, hey check that caddy out, that thing is pretty damn sweet. not typical, big ass chrome 20's which are overly abundant in southeastern michigan...

Looks like a fun weekend ahead. Just received my Quantumview delivery notices and everything will be here by Friday. Now I need to get out and look at wheels. Think I'm leaning towards hyper black or black chrome.

If you go to www.thetirerack.com you can see the CTS in your color and add the wheels of your choice. You get see how it looks. It's not perfect but is a good start.

Thanks, I've tried that but I can't get a good feel for the hyper black. That's why I've searched members' pictures, I think the lighting and angles help me see the difference in the wheels.

If I had a black CTS then there would be no question, I'd go black as you have. Mine is a daily driver, however, so I wanted a color that was easier to maintain. I would like a look that is a bit different from the standard silver or chrome wheels, however.

I suggested this once before but it wasn't well received. Buy a painted wheel that you like. Then have them powder painted either the same color of your car or a complementary color. It would be one of a kind..but also pricey.

Bob's right. just get any wheel you like thats polished or painted, then you can use aircraft paint remover and strip the paint. After that you can get them powdercoated to a color you like. my friend has a BMW E36 and bought a brand new set of HP racing wheels and got them powdercoated here in the BayArea, NorCal for 35 bucks a rim!!! i really like powdercoating instead of painted rims because they charge the paint and rims with ions or something and it really attaches itself well to the wheel. Then they bake the rim in an oven and thus makes the powdercoat almost part of the wheel. powdercoat is very hard and durable and wont chip like paint. the worst that could ever happen to powdercoat is for it to crack (and you really must have messed up somehow in order for that to happen). it came out real nice and he was very pleased with their work. you can also tell them how much clear to mix in there too which i thought was great.

whoops, forgot to put the pic in. haha. here it is. he has better pics of it but this is all i have right now. for 35 bucks a pop, it was a sweet deal IMO. they can powdercoat the whole thing, or just the spokes and leave the polished lip, or however you wish. if anyone in NorCal wants to powdercoat anything, i know a good place!

Didn't have as much time to play as I thought, the wife had ordered 5 cubic yards of mulch and moving and spreading that took up my Saturday.

Did manage to get the V grill on today, between rain showers. Took a total of 20 minutes with some scraped knuckles and two dropped pins. Those bottom pins were the worst. Got my exhaust tips on as well, the Volant will have to wait until next weekend.

Did order my wheels and tires from Tirerack so those should be here next week. Ended up going chrome (I know, the bling thing) but decided that they would look good with the new grill and I just couldn't find any good pics of a silver car with the black wheels. Got 18x 8 with 245/40 Pirelli P Zeros.

Probably not, but then I'm too old to sit on Santa's lap anymore. I'm just having fun with the CTS.
