Can anyone tell me if the 05's are equipped with a CANBus system or not?... I am looking to swap to LEDs on my DRL and Tail Lights...Just wondering if I will have any problems with Hyper-flashing or Bulb out messages! Thanks

what exactly is it? There is no picture and when i type in 05 ext it says it does not fit.....sorry if its a stupid question but i dont know what it is or what to do with it??? thanks
I find that hard to believe as gm didn't change the wiring and fuse blocks for the ext only(Amazon is bad for that on some stuff claiming it works for one but not the other(base vs ext or esv they are wired the same)

I hate they don't have a pic of it

What that is in the link is like the stock flasher unit except it won't do the hyper flash when you install leds
It goes on the back side of the dash fuse block in place of the stock flasher unit

ok thanks, so would 1 of those fix it for every light if i was to have the problems from leds? Like would I just have to buy 1 and plug it in and not have to worry about hyperflashing at all?

Yes and it shouldn't act up with the brake lights/cruise control either
OK another question for you...would this also fix my issue i have with my leds in my lights in my exterior mirrors? I put leds in them and the leds stay on very faintly, so i have looked into it and people say to put resistors in them and they will shut off.....so would that fix that issue also, or would they still require resistors?

That sounds like bad bulbs
I have leds in my puddle lamps and don't have that problem
Try different leds and see if that helps

Really?....I read online about it and it actually seems really common, there is alot of people and info on how to fix it.....what led's did you use for your puddles?....I bought some off Superbrightleds, so they arent cheap ebay ones

lol...the lights i bought from Superbright work just fine, its just the fact that when the truck is off the lights stay on very very dim, you have to look close but you can see they are still faintly lit up....after reading alot of places online alot of people are saying its because they need resistors

Yeah, its not a Cadillac problem though lol....if you google led lights stay on when off, there is stuff all over google about it! hard to believe no one else here has seen this or heard of it! Seems very common with leds, no matter what the application!

Guys I got the leds in my puddle lamps on Amazon(I will try and find a link for them) no faint glow when off(tested at night so I know they don't)

I have cree 800lumen festoons in my second and third row dome lights(crazy bright love it) and in the reading lamps(they can make the rear view mirror dim if both are on at night)
Now I do have to hit both switches for the rear reading lights to work but after that they work flawless
My map lights I have Sylvania leds(from Walmart but can be found online) they work great

See the issue you all are having is not a new issue(widely covered on many forums from Acura to Mercedes trust me it's been beat to death and has drove some poor saps back to using regular bulbs or modding the vehicles wiring :) )
Anywho the main feeds for the map and reading lamps are on two wires from the bcm(driver's side behind the knee bolster) if a load equalizer was used on those wires there would be no dimly lit bulbs or faint afterglow with some led bulbs
(If anyone wants to know which ones I can tell you if you want to add a load equalizer)

Have I had the faint glow you may ask
No I have not(and I have three gm SUVs to maintain(note my car is exempt)not one has had this)

Does our trucks have canbus?
Yes they do though some are less picky then others(eg my dad's h2 will put one side headlight on both low and high if the other side doesn't work luckily I converted it to led headlights)
What this means is if you get leds that are not can bus then it will throw a code(yes it does throw a code) if it's the dome lights it will be a dimming circuit code(have this with my dad's h2 yet the dome lights work fine)no clue on the map/reading lights if they throw a code or not

The puddle lamps are also worked by the bcm via the door modules(basically what you use to work the windows and locks in the front)now each one can set separate codes(not sure if the puddle lamp is tested or not)

Now if anyone wants a link for any bulb I use just give me a shout via pm I will be glad to provide it and help out

Just keep in mind while some of us can run non canbus leds doesn't mean we all can
The blinkers are the only lights that are not canbus as they are not detected via the bcm the rapid flash is from the flasher unit thinking a bulb is blown(which happens with the old thermal flashers also)

Great info Cadillac Man, yeah i have all leds interior as well with no problems at all! ...just the lights staying on in the puddle lamps is all! Do you have a link to the bulbs you use for your mirrors?....I could find tons of bulbs but the prob was they have to be the skinnier leds like the ones i linked a few post back because the double or triple row leds wont fit inside the plastic cover!
