Anyone swap out the trunk light or the courtesy lights inside the car with LED lamps? Can you use normal leds or do they need to be the CAN type?
Cool I didn't want to buy regular ones and they not work then have to buy the more expensive ones.07cadv said:I have. Much better. Regular ol' leds. I forget who I bought the lights from though.
No problem man thanks for the info, LED's come tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.07cadv said:Sorry so late....right out of factory service manual.... 1. Using your fingers, gently pull downward with equal pressure to release the retainers of the overhead console. 2. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 3. Remove the overhead console. If I recall correctly you had to push it towards the front of the car as you were pulling down on it. Just be careful and you will be good. The hardest part was working on it while it was up near the roof. I did the led's and ran power for my radar detector while I was in there. It's a pain..... ---------- I'm not sure which led's came with the kit I bought. I have replaced under dash, overhead console, rear interior, trunk, doors, and drl's.
Yeah I got her all together!! ThanksP-Funk said:Don't know if you've already installed them or not, but I did my interior lights a couple of years ago. I followed the installation video from Precision LEDs website ( http://www.precisionled.com/cadillac...2003-2007.html ). For the map lights, there are 4 tab locations. You basically pry it apart at those 4 locations. It does seem like you are going to break something, but you don't. Just be careful not to pull it down too far when it does give because it will only be held on by the wires.
