LED Bulbs: Location & Numbers, Source & Links

Hey all,

I see where many of us have or are wanting to do LED upgrades, so I thought I would post locations, parts numbers and the source I use for the benefit of the community.

I buy all of my bulbs here:
http://www.vleds.com/

While there are many places to buy LED bulbs (and a lot cheaper than this source), these are quality bulbs that will last, and white bulbs are offered in 5K and 6K color output. For the CTS lighting, I prefer 5K exterior bulbs, as they match the Factory LED lighting much better than 6K bulbs would. For interior, 6K is a better match for the Factory lighting.

Lighting: location, bulb numbers:

Interior vanity lights, 4 required:
These are 6K bulbs, which are a better match than 5K for the interior lighting.

Front side markers, 2 required:
These are #194 amber LEDs. You want to use the same color LED as the lenses for maximum output.

License plate lights, 2 required:
These are #194 5K 160 lumen "flank style" bulbs. When installing, make sure the LED elements point down towards the plate when fully engaged in the housing.

Reverse lights, 2 required:
These are #921 5K 500 lumen bulbs.

With the exception of the flank style bulbs: LEDs are polarity dependent, so if the bulb does not illuminate, pull it out of the socket and flip it 180 degrees. Test all lighting before reassembly.
End result is these bulbs are bright, crystal white, and compliment the CTS V-Sport Factory lighting really well.

Thanks for the info and surprisingly Auto Zone had both the license and back up light LEDs as described below in the store. The license was pretty easy: both bulbs face left to right and you use a small flat head to pry off the lens from left to right. Replace the bulbs and test before reinstall. They oddly clip in left to right again, but you'll figure it out.

The back up was a little more challenging but accomplished in less than 15 mins:

1) remove the 4 (7mm) bolts under the rear bumper that connect to the heat sheild.

2) wedge something between the bumper and Heat sheild to give you some room to work with (I used one of those gardening kneeling pads and folded it in half). Otherwise, anticipate some scrapes and bruises!

3) I got under the center of the rear bumper and used a small pair of pliers to twist the factory bulbs out (counterclockwise), replaced, tested and THEN reinstalled the bulbs into the housing. Use the pliers again for a tight fit.

4) reinstall 4 bolts on bumper/shield and voilĂ ...no more 1970's yellow light for your back up lights!
